TikTok Video Unearthing Crocs’ History Goes Viral Amid Cowboy Boots Release

The latest announcement of Crocs cowboy boots has brought attention to an interesting video on TikTok about their creation!

The clip is now making its way across the internet after spilling some rather strange information about the shoe which has now become a huge part of pop culture. Crocs was founded by Colorado natives Scott Seamans, Lyndon Hanson, and George Boedecker Jr. in 2001 following the production of foam clogs by the Canadian company Foam Creations.

Crocs First Appeared As A Cameo In A Movie Project

Word around the block is that the famous Crocs were seen in the 2006 movie titled “Idiocracy.” TikTok user @angrygymteacher uploaded a short clip talking about one of his new favorite movies, and according to him, something interesting caught his eye.

In the viral video, which has now amassed over 800k likes, he narrates the plot of “Idiocracy” saying:

“I learned something new about the movie “Idiocracy” today, which, if you’ve never seen it, shame on you. It’s almost 20 years now, and it’s a funny movie about a dystopian future where American society has evolved to the point where everyone is just a complete id**t.”

@angrygymteacher I’ve become a bit obsessed with this movie recently, and I JUST learned this fun fact today! Do you know this? #idiocracy #idiocracy_was_a_prophecy #crocsdaddy #crocsgang #peteachersoftikt #teachersofttiktok ♬ original sound – The Angry Gym Teacher

He added that the film’s costume designer worked on a shoestring budget, and when characters needed shoes to wear, he came up with a shoe style that was “futuristic, but also really st–id”.

“He found this little startup company that made shoes, and they weren’t like that in the world yet. He’s like this is perfect because it looks ridiculous,” he added.

@angrygymteacher then revealed that movie producer Mike Judge talked about the possibility of the company becoming huge and Crocs becoming a vast fashion masterpiece. The judge’s statement was quickly dismissed by the dress designer, who said:

“Are you kidding me? This is absurd; no one will actually wear these shoes. Look at them.”

The man then revealed to his followers that the shoes were, in fact, Crocs as he exclaimed, “Just plain Crocs! We all wear id–t shoes.” He concludes the video by admitting that he has two pairs and plans to buy three more because he wonders if his findings are “common knowledge” to fans of the film.

Other TikTok users quickly stormed the comment section to express their reservations about Crocs. One unimpressed fan wrote, “I know I hate Crocs for a reason.” a second added: “never owned Crocs and now I’m proud of that fact.”

Another commenter expressed her pride in having “never owned an alligator.” While the fourth agreed with the film’s plot as they wrote: “We are every day closer to the film. It’s too accurate.” Honorable mention is the fifth comment from Crocs themselves, which reads: “started from the bottom, but we’re here now.”

Then another TikToker wrote, “I will never submit to Crocs.” as a seventh commenter joked about the police laughing at him when they found a pair of Crocs in his car.
