When TikToker Emily Feret got a scam email from someone claiming to be Drew Barrymore, she decided to have some fun with it. Instead of just deleting the email and going about her day, she created a funny video about the experience.
After the TikTok video went viral, she got an email from a producer on Barrymore’s show asking for more information. While on a Zoom call with producers, she surprisingly ended up on the show talking to Barrymore herself. As the two talked about the fraudulent email, Barrymore told Feret that she would fly him to New York City to meet him and be on the show. That day finally arrived last week and on Friday, which happened to be Feret’s birthday, the episode aired.

It’s basically a dream come true for TikTok content creator Feret who is a huge fan of Barrymore. First, he has to talk to the actor via Zoom call and appear on his show. And now, add a trip to New York City and meet Barrymore in person to the list of amazing things that have happened since opening that scam email.
During Friday’s show, Barrymore introduced Feret as a guest on the show during the “Drew News” segment. “Isn’t it funny that like some stalkery scam came to find you and here we are?,” Barrymore asked Feret. “Like this trickster really brought us together.”
Feret later told Barrymore that the show would air on her birthday, making it the best birthday present ever. Barrymore asked Feret, “What, if you could, you know, what would ideally be a good thing to bring you on your birthday?” and Feret replied, “Being here is great. And I got to see New York and I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity.”
Barrymore says that’s not enough. He made a $5,000 donation in Feret’s name to the organization Feed My Starving Children, to which he donated the original $250 Barrymore sent to Feret. He also presented Feret with a $1,000 Spa Finder gift card as a birthday present.

Many of Feret’s TikTok followers shared his excitement for the amazing adventure. “I’m not allowed to cry of joy for you!!! As a long time follower you deserve this Emily! ? love ya momma,” wrote one follower. Another added, “I couldn’t love this more!! ?? You are amazing, you can tell he just loves you! ❤️”
One follower wanted to know if you saw what you got with Barrymore asking, “Is she as magical as she seems? Beautiful moment!” The ferret replied, “Even more magical.”

This trip was Feret’s first time visiting New York City. He documents some of his city’s delights in TikTok videos. From his plane ride to his trip through the city to his hotel room and everything in between, Feret enjoys all the wonders of New York City. He even tried a real New York City bagel!
Feret exclusively told The Blast, “I’ve never been to New York.
