During the SXSW Film Festival, the actress stated that she no longer uses it despite being told to follow COVID-19 protocols on film sets. Swinton also said that many individuals, including members of the audience, appeared to be choosing not to wear masks because the worst of the pandemic was over.
In August 2021, the actress contracted the virus and was bedridden for three weeks. Even after recovering, he still suffers from some side effects, such as forgetfulness. Later this year, Swinton will star in the American romantic comedy “Asteroid City,” and the action thriller “The Killer.”

During a keynote speech at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, Swinton revealed that she had chosen not to follow the COVID-19 lockdown protocol on the film set, per Every day Mail.
“We’ve faced different challenges in recent years, and some of them still linger with people’s belief in sitting in large spaces,” the actress said, reflecting on the issues that came with the pandemic.
Swinton then shared that now that the worst of the outbreak is over, many people, including audience members, are no longer wearing masks.
“Look at you. I bet none of you are wearing masks either. I mean, who knew that might happen?” he added. “There was a time… I mean, in Texas, do people wear masks? I have to ask. I don’t know, it’s a big world, and people do different things all over the world.”

Elsewhere during her speech, Swinton shared that she will be traveling to Ireland soon to film a movie, and while she was told to “wear a mask at all times,” she has chosen not to.
“I am very healthy, and I have been infected with COVID many times, and I am very full of antibodies, and I have faith,” said the actress, explaining why she no longer wears a mask.
While Swinton also admitted that it was “really good” to see people gathering in rooms without masks, she admitted that at one point during the outbreak, she worried about “how long before it happens.
He also revealed that one of his concerns was that people who felt going to the theater “was a little old-fashioned would gain traction,” which luckily didn’t happen.
Swinton added. “One good thing about this epidemic is that it makes people say that theater is on its way.”

While the Covid-19 outbreak increased in 2020, Swinton contracted the virus in August 2021 and was unable to leave her bed for three weeks.
“I coughed like an old man who smoked a pipe for 70 years and had severe vertigo. I got off quite lightly, but the worst thing was how it affected my brain,” he recalled of the experience in an interview with The Caretaker.
The effects of the illness affected his acting abilities at the time, especially for roles for which he “had to study a lot of texts.”
He added, “I’m usually pretty quick to learn and pick things up, but this was like chewing a really big piece of gum. I can’t remember my lines.”.

He will also appear in “Asteroid City,” alongside Margot Robbie, Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson, and join Michael Fassbender in David Fincher’s “The Killer.”
Both films are expected to come out this year, “Asteroid City” debuting in June and “The Killer” in November.
