Jermaine Dupri discovered R&B quintet Xscape and quickly added the group’s following to his then-new record label, So So Def Recordings. He received two Soul Train Music Awards as part of the ensemble, including A-Town Music Awards for Best Duo/Ensemble, Best New R&B Artist and Best R&B Album. After the release of Xscape’s third record, Traces of My Lipstick, in 1998, the group split up.
She shared a Grammy Award with Kandi Burruss, another former member of the group Xscape, for TLC’s smash hit “No Scrubs.” His other honors include an ASCAP Rap Award and an American Society of Composers, Authors and Producers Award. She reunited with her sisters, Tamika Scott and LaTocha, and new member, Kiesha Miles, and they released the Xscape record, Unchained, and the song, ‘What’s Up,’ in 2005. Cottle made her reality television debut on BET’s Tiny and Toya in June 2009.
