Todd And Julie Chrisley To Report At Prison As Bail Request Is Rejected By Court

Reality TV star Todd, and Julie Chrisley’s request for bail has been rejected by the court. The couple is part of the American reality television show “Chrisley Knows Best,” which has been on the air since March 2014. The spin-off movie “Growing Up Chrisley” premiered in 2019 but was canceled after Todd and Julie were convicted of fraud in mid-2022.

“Chrisley Knows Best” was also canceled due to a scandal involving the couple. Todd and Julie were found guilty of fraud and tax evasion in June 2022.

After a long wait for the court’s decision, the couple were sentenced late last year and are set to report to their respective rehabilitation facilities this month. They previously revealed their intention to appeal the decision and ask for bail within that period; however, the request was denied.

Per Page Six, Ahead of their Jan. 17 sentencing, Todd and Julie’s requests for bail were denied. This means that both of them will have to report to their respective federal prisons in Florida, as mentioned earlier. Both were convicted of fraud and tax evasion in June 2022 and, by the end of the year, received a combined sentence of 19 years.

The couple had also previously appealed for a 21-day extension of their surrender date; however, the request was also rejected. Todd was sentenced to 12 years at Pensacola Federal Prison Camp and 16 months of probation.

Julie, in the end, was sentenced to seven years in the Federal Correctional Institution and Marianna Federal Prison Camp. The reality star must also serve 16 months in prison after her release. The two prisons are only two and a half hours away from each other.

follow People’s Magazine, the prison the reality star will report is “no country club.” The Bureau of Prisons revealed that Todd will be sent to a male-only minimum security correctional facility located on 23 acres. At the end of Julie, her correctional facility was a camp, and while still incarcerated, Paul Cambria, a veteran defense attorney, stated that “a camp is the best place to be.”

Cambria continued, “They’re almost like a college dorm situation. There are usually no fences or barbed wire or anything like that. Obviously there are monitors and cameras and stuff, but it’s a pretty relaxed atmosphere.”

The defense attorney further explained that the location was for “white collar, non-violent – many types of crimes worth dollars and cents.” Basically, a place for criminals who are not involved in violent crimes. People commonly sentenced there include “business people, professionals, lawyers, doctors, dentists and accountants.”

Speaking on the “Chrisley Confessions” podcast with her son Chase Chrisley’s fiancee, Emmy Medders, Julie revealed the possibility of her husband being separated worries her. During a January 5 interview, Julie mentioned some advice a friend gave her: “the tears you shed sew the seeds for your future.”

The reality star claimed the quote “was a source of strength for me because I don’t usually cry, and this whole experience really brought me to my knees.”

Todd didn’t say much about the looming prison date; however, she took some time to deal with rumors that she was gay and resumed a relationship with Mark Braddock, her former business partner.

During a recent episode of “Chrisley Confessions,” Todd said, “What insults m2e the most is that, out of all these 54 years, for me to finally be accused with a man, it’s someone who looks like Mark Braddock.” He described him as “frog” and claims he looks like a “thumb.”

In December last year, Todd and Julie revealed that they had appealed the court’s decision; however, they were not allowed to talk much about the case after the filing.

In an episode of “Chrisley Confessions,” Todd said, “We can’t discuss the case now because the appeal has – however they did it – I think it was filed yesterday or the day before yesterday. Our lawyers are aware that the court is appealing this.”

He continued, “So we’re not allowed to talk about it, so don’t think we’re avoiding telling you something because we can’t,” he added. “It is that we have been told we cannot.”

Burr & Forman LLP attorney Alex Little also told People’s Magazine that they were optimistic about the trial because it had “serious and repeated errors.” One is the jury that the government allegedly misinformed about the taxes Todd and Chrisley paid.
