No animals here! The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) is responding to allegations that Todd Chrisley was fed rat-infested food.
Clan chief Chrisley and his family have been pushing for prison reform since the patriarch and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were jailed on charges of bank fraud and tax evasion. However, his latest abuse claims have not gone down well with prison representatives, who have defended their delicious food.
FBOP Rejects Todd Chrisley’s Horrific Prison Food Claims As Lies
Todd recently caused an uproar about the conditions at FPC Pensacola prison, claiming he and other inmates were fed food filled with animals. The “Chrisley Knows Best” star accused the facility of having rats/squirrels in their food storage facility and recalled a dead cat being dropped from the ceiling onto their food.
The TV personality said the food was laden with black mold and was at least a year past its expiration date. In light of the alleged rat infestation, the food the prisoners were consuming was appalling, unpalatable and unhealthy.
Contrary to Todd’s appalling claims, FBOP vehemently insists their prisons offer safe and humane facilities. They emphasize that their kitchen operates under strict regulations, prioritizing the needs of all prisoners and providing them with “healthy, nutritious and appetizing food.”

As for the claim of black mold and expired food, the prison representative stated that this claim is false because all food that has passed its expiry date will be thrown away. FBOP institutions, including FPC Pensacola, are accredited by the American Correctional Association.
Their rules cover indoor living and other important arrangements, such as environmental conditions such as temperature and air quality. However, the Chrisley clan often attacked prison facilities for being below the required standards.
Although their prisons were beaten by a famous family would upset anyone, prison representatives made clear their support for inmates to voice their complaints in their statement to TMZ. However, their willingness to listen only extended to those who followed standard procedures.
FBOP admitted that they did not appreciate Todd’s decision to speak out without going through an official process. The right way involves getting a review through the prison’s Administrative Rehabilitation Program of any concerns, but the TV personality usually airs his grievances through his family and lawyers.

Lawyer father of five, Jay Surgent, echoed similar sentiments. He said his client’s bravery in dealing with the impoverished conditions of the Pensacola prison should be celebrated rather than criticized. In that regard, the Bureau of Prisons defended itself, claiming that it thoroughly investigates all reports of employee misconduct.

Months before lamenting about his animal-filled meals, Todd raved about feeling “blessed” to be in prison. In October, the entertainer’s lawyer spread the good news about his client’s higher purpose, saying the entertainer sees his incarceration as a call from God.
The convicted real estate agent claims he is behind bars to help improve prison conditions from the inside, and he plans to fulfill this goal by using his time, energy and resources. Additionally, Todd’s attorney revealed he plans to launch programs and initiatives to help address the problem and make prison life more tolerable for other inmates.
The legal practitioner pointed out that his client feels “fortunate to have a platform where he can explain the issues that he and other inmates face every day” at FPC Pensacola in Florida. Despite his allegedly inhumane conditions, Todd continues to advance in his new mission.
That’s not all patriarch Chrisley does behind bars. During an episode of the “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” podcast, the media personality’s daughter revealed she has taken on the role of financial educator inside prison walls.
Savannah says her father is teaching a finance class to reduce his sentence, showing an unexpected commitment to personal growth and community service. “Trauma is one of them. I think the other one is the finance class, which, how ironic is that?” The former beauty pageant contestant spoke about her father’s new job in prison.
