In a candid interview on his sister’s “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” podcast, Grayson expressed his deep sadness, stating that his parents’ incarceration was “worse than their deaths,” per Page Six. The impact of their absence has left a deep void in his life, tearing apart his family ties.
While the legal proceedings have been widely publicized, little attention has been paid to the emotional toll Grayson and his siblings, Savannah and Chase, have had. In the interview, he spoke about the struggle to cope with the reality of his parents being locked up, noting that the experience had left him “bitter.”
“It’s worse than them dying,” he said. “Because they are here, but they are not here. So just wasted time. I say, like, if they die, you can’t have any more time with them. So it’s over.”
He added, “There’s always a bitter part of you. There’s no other way. It’s going to be hard as long as they’re there.”

Grayson also shared the feelings he experienced when visiting his imprisoned parents. Speaking candidly about his visit with Savannah, he described the weight he felt on his heart during the troubled encounter.
While Savannah shared that she felt “renewed” visiting the two in their respective cells, she shared the weight she felt when stepping inside the prison walls. The reality of seeing his parents locked up, separated from their family and the life they once knew, took a toll on him. Grayson admits that the visit left him emotionally drained, feeling a weight on his heart that was hard to put into words.
“Don’t you try to put it in perspective like at least they’re still here for you to hug and say I love you?” Savannah questioned.
“Yes,” he replied, adding that it was the “time limit” he struggled with and felt he had to do the tour every weekend.

The Chrisleys have been embroiled in legal trouble for several years, with Todd and Julie facing tax evasion, bank fraud and wire fraud charges. In 2022, the couple was indicted on multiple charges and sentenced to 19 years in prison.
In January, Todd began serving a 12-year sentence at the Pensacola Federal Prison Camp, while Julie began a 7-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution and Marianna Federal Prison Camp in Florida. He will also serve 16 months of probation after his release from prison.
Last month, Grayson’s sister Savannah revealed that Julie had a “tougher” time in prison than Todd and was “scared”, although she noted that Julie may not have told her the whole story.
“I think he tried to protect us from a lot of things. Because that’s my mother,” he said. “That’s him.”

On the “Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley” podcast, Grayson opened up about his romantic pursuit of Alabama Barker, the teenage daughter of musician Travis Barker.
Grayson left a flirtatious comment on Alabama’s Instagram post: “We married him [sic] do not know yet.” Her statement ended up being the “most liked comment under her post,” prompting her to check out her Instagram story “right after.”
“I thought it was kind of funny,” Grayson told Savannah. He was surprised, saying, “What a plot twist no one expected.”
“That’s what the comments say!” he replied back. “This is a crossover I never expected, but I’m here for it. I think it will be interesting.”
