Tom Pelphrey opens up about his life before Kaley Cuoco.
Although the actress and Cuoco met at the premiere of Ozark in April 2022 and fell in love at first sight, Pelphrey recently revealed that she wasn’t too familiar with Cuoco’s work as an actress at the time.
And while the couple has already started a family, welcoming their daughter in early March, the “Ozark” actor is apparently still catching up on some of his blockbuster movies/series.

Although Cuoco is a top-notch actress with many iconic roles under her belt, her work is still unfamiliar to some. Interestingly, his partner falls into the category of few individuals who do not watch the American sitcom “The Big Bang Theory,” in which he played the role of “Penny.”

During a discussion with W Magazine about her role in her new series, “Love & Death,” she revealed her unawareness of Cuoco’s role in the 2007 comedy series.
Pelphrey first admitted that she had never watched the hit sitcom, saying, “Never. When I first took Kaley to New Jersey to meet my family and friends, my mother’s partner – a Big Bang Theory fan – was at there, and he kept calling her Penny.”
The Banshee actress continued, “I didn’t know what was going on. So I pulled Kaley aside, like, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t understand what’s going on. Why is she calling you Penny?’ He was like, ‘That’s my character on The Big Bang Theory.’ I was completely unaware.”
Making up for it, he added, “I’ve watched a few episodes with him since then, and obviously, he’s great.” If she had seen any of Cuoco’s other movies, she revealed, “I’ve never seen Kaley in anything. Look, I live in a cave. Before I met Kaley, I lived in upstate New York, on the street land, in the middle of the woods, without much Wi-Fi. He brought me to modern times.”
The Emmy winner, a Leo, opened up about the similarities between her and her precious daughter Matilda. ”My date of birth is July 28. I’m a Leo. I’m a Libra rising and a Scorpio moon. My daughter shares two of my three signs. He’s not a Leo. He’s an Aries sun, but he’s a Leo moon and a Libra rising just like me.”
The doting father later stated that he saw a little of himself in his daughter. “He has one dimple on his left cheek like me. Besides, I saw Kaley,” he said.
The “Outer Range” actress added, “Kaley says she sees me, but when Matilda’s kind of confused or upset about something, she makes this face, and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, there’s your mom.”‘

For curious fans who want to know how the couple officially started their relationship, the “Flight Attendant” actress publicly confirmed her girlfriend status with Pelphrey in May 2022 while making their romance Instagram official.
Her display of love comes after her divorce from Karl Cook in September 2021 after three years of marriage. Backing up how she and Pelphrey became an item after their meeting at the Ozark premiere, she revealed during a friendly chat, “I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just beginning. It hit me. It was love at first sight.”
She added, “We connected right away. I feel like I’ve known him my whole life, but I wasn’t ready for him,” before quickly stating, “We’re ready to build a life together.”
Luckily for the couple, they announced they were expecting their first child via an Instagram post on October 11. On March 30, Pelphrey and Cuoco announced the arrival of their bundle of joy.
