Tom Schwartz is embracing the return of reality TV with renewed confidence, even though he’s skeptical about filming the upcoming 11th season of “Vanderpump Rules” following the revelations of Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss’ “Scandoval” relationship.
In an interview with Us Weekly on June 23, the 40-year-old reality star, while promoting her new Fox series, “Stars on Mars,” admitted to feeling “angsty” when the new season begins.
“We’ve been through so much with this band, and we’re such a volatile crew,” Schwartz admits. “We’ve always been an unstable group of friends. I don’t think I’ve ever debated outside of this group, to be honest. We have a lot of history together, and there are trials and tribulations, but it comes from a place of love.”
Schwartz admits to her trepidation as the new season begins but emphasizes that the drama in the Pump Rules crew is always “earned.” However, he expressed gratitude for being a part of a show that has captivated audiences for over a decade.

Schwartz found herself at the center of controversy when news broke in March of a months-long affair between her close friend Sandoval and fellow “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Leviss. The scandal sparked a wave of backlash against Schwartz, especially after it was revealed that he was aware of the fraud but chose not to reveal it to Sandoval’s then-girlfriend, Ariana Madix, with whom he was friends.
This revelation strained Schwartz’s relationship with Madix, as he confirmed during season 10’s “Pam’s Rules” that they were no longer on speaking terms due to his continued loyalty to Sandoval.

“I didn’t think you were alone [co-conspirator], but I won’t have friends with him. So I’m not your friend anymore,” he said, per Us Weekly.
Madix further explained the extent of his support for Sandoval, adding, “I’m his ride or die and defending him — even to you. Trying to get him to go five days without drinking so he can get his sperm tested so we can have embryos because if he wants that down the road, I want him to have that. I wish I didn’t miss it, but I think what I miss is unreal.”

After the explosive season 10 reunion, Schwartz revealed that he had decided to step back from the feuds and controversies that were plaguing his friends’ circle.
During a June episode of “Stars on Mars,” the “Schwartz and Sandy” bar owner opened up about the toll it took on her, sharing, “My friend had an affair that happened to hit the country, and it was really messed up, but the thing is, I got caught up in it . It’s been a huge source of anxiety in my life. I’ve been in this extended funk.”
He continued, “He made a big mess. And then, you know, he left it to us to clean up at the business. And it’s hard for me not to be mad at him.”
However, he is determined to approach the group’s drama differently this time. Schwartz explained his plan of action: “I think I’m going to be more resilient moving forward; maybe I waffled a little at the beginning [Scandoval]. I retreated inside.”
Producer Alex Baskin Wants Everyone to Get a ‘Minute Down’

As season 11 of “Vanderpump Rules” rolls around, Schwartz and the rest of the cast prepare for their return. However, executive producer Alex Baskin revealed to Diversity last month that contract renegotiations for the model were temporarily suspended.
“I think everybody’s thinking about what that might mean,” Baskin admits. “No one is saying no, I would say that – but I think it’s hard for anyone to say yes now because they feel like they’re not giving up.”
However, the main concern revolved around finding a way for the actors to shoot together without allowing the tension to escalate out of control. To address this, Baskin expressed his commitment to allowing everyone to “drop a minute.”
However, the question of Leviss’ return is still unknown as the former beauty queen has now stayed away from the public eye.
