The actress and author revealed that her eldest son, Liam Aaron McDermott, had to undergo foot surgery, leaving her and her 16-year-old son a little uneasy. The procedure comes nearly 11 months after her daughter, Stella Doreen McDermott, suffered a “very scary” hospital visit.

On Thursday, Spelling shared a single photo of her baby boy, Liam, lying in a hospital bed with a white sheet covering him. The teenager’s face shows a stoic and straight expression as he looks away from the camera with an IV infusion stuck into his arm.

His doting mother reflected on how the moment made them feel in the accompanying caption. The former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star typed in a text box across the image: “My first baby waiting for leg surgery. Not sure who’s more nervous him or mama.”

Continuing at the bottom of the Instagram Story photo, she wrote a sweet message to her son, writing, “Proud of your bravery. And things can get better after this.”

Although Spelling neglected to state the reason for his surgery, Liam, who refers to himself as a drummer and fashion designer, was conspicuously absent from a family event on December 1 to the Jingle Ball 2023 concert in Los Angeles.
