A popular Turkish DJ who was “horribly tortured” to death in London tried to comfort his girlfriend in her final moments as she was locked blindfolded in a bathroom, according to shocking court proceedings.
Mehmet Koray Alpergin, 43, and his girlfriend, Gozde Dalbudak, 34, were kidnapped by six men near the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on their way home from an Italian restaurant in Mayfair on 13 October. 2022.
They were taken to an empty wine bar, where Dalbudak was blindfolded and locked in a filthy bathroom while Alpergin was beaten, scalded with hot water and stabbed in the leg, jurors were told.
Although he was mercilessly tortured, Alpergin tried to reassure his girlfriend, who arrived in the UK just three days earlier, according to Metro.
“My love, don’t be afraid,” Dalbudak heard her boyfriend calling her, prosecutor Crispin Aylett told the court.
“I’m sorry, my love,” she heard him call – before it was broken by screams and cries of pain from Alpergin, who owns Turkish radio station Bizim FM.

Alpergin’s final moments were detailed Thursday in the trial of six London men charged with murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment and perverting the course of justice.
The naked DJ’s body was dumped in the woods on October 15 and later found by dog walkers.
Dalbudak said he was punched in the face and dropped by thugs after being kidnapped. He spent almost two days locked in the bathroom before he was released.

He had arrived in the UK from Turkey for the first time just three days before the fatal abduction, the court heard on Thursday.
“This is his first, and no doubt his last, visit to the UK,” the prosecutor, Aylett, told the court, according to Metro.
“Ms. Dalbudak returned to Turkey on Oct. 21, 2022. Although she is still in contact with police officers in London, she has not returned to the UK,” he said.
“He is also not willing to do so for the purpose of this trial. He was also not prepared to give evidence via a direct link from Turkey.
“For perfectly understandable reasons, you might think, he wants to put it all behind him.”
An autopsy revealed 94 injuries on Alpergin’s body, Aylett said.

“The prosecution claimed that Koray Alpergin was kidnapped and tortured either so that he could be punished for something he had done or to be forced to give up something he knew — perhaps where either drugs or money — and which was also kidnapped by his captors. curious,” he said.
“It is clear that before his death, Koray Alpergin was stripped and horribly tortured,” the prosecutor continued.
“From the number and nature of the injuries sustained, the prosecution suggested that it would not be difficult to imagine a group of sadistic thugs taking it in turns to inflict injury, either with punches and kicks, beating him with bats, scalding him with boiling water. water, stabbing his leg,” he added.

Jurors were told Alpergin was not her usual “happy-go-lucky” self and appeared anxious before the abduction. He is also allegedly in debt, including around $40,000 just for his car, the Telegraph reported.
Steffan Gordon, 34, Tejean Kennedy, 33, Samuel Owusu-Opoku, 35, Junior Kettle, 32, Ali Kavak, 26, and Erdogan Ulcay, 56, face charges of murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment and perverting the course of justice.
Kennedy, Owusu-Opoku, Kettle and Kavak deny the murder and false imprisonment charges as well as the kidnapping charges.
Gordon admitted kidnapping but denied murder and false imprisonment. Ulcay and Kavak denied allegations of embezzlement. Owusu-Opoku admitted it, according to the outlet.
