Daystar Peterson is a Canadian rapper known by his stage name, Tory Lanez. After receiving recognition for his award-winning songs, the performer’s reputation took a nosedive in 2020 following allegations of bodily harm.

Tory Lanez Appeals Guilty Verdict In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case Over Bad Evidence

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the “In For It” rapper’s newest addition to his defense team Jose Baez claims that prosecutors attacked his client using “irrelevant evidence.”
The famous criminal defense attorney accused prosecutors of wrongfully submitting a shirtless photo of the Grammy nominee with a gun tattooed on his chest. Although Megan’s lawyer claims the photos are for identification purposes, Baez believes their intentions are dirty.
Criminal defense attorneys claim that prosecutors chose the photo to manipulate jurors into thinking their client had a penchant for guns. In court filings, the “Luv” rapper’s attorney went on to accuse prosecutors of threatening to present Lanez’s rap lyrics to the jury.
According to Baez, this action is a big mistake on their part. He also came after Megan’s friend, Kelsey Harris, who was in the vehicle during the 2020 shoot.
Attorneys noted that prosecutors presented their 80-minute interview with an eyewitness to the jury, in which Harris recounted what happened that night. However, Baez pointed out that the fellow “Sweetest Pie” singer later retracted some details from her statement.
Regarding the prosecutor’s “irrelevant evidence,” the defense attorney stated that it was wrong to submit an Instagram post containing claims from one of Megan’s publishers. In the comments, the individual claimed that the police had matched the bullet from his client’s gun with shrapnel in the rapper’s leg.

Additionally, Baez thought it was inappropriate to accept Megan’s statement to police after the shooting, in which she claimed Lanez begged her not to “say anything” because she was on probation. If the appeal is not sustained, the sentencing of the Canadian sensation will continue as scheduled next month.
The rapper faces up to 22 years in prison on three felony firearm charges. However, Lanez enlisted Baez’s help in January to avoid this impending doom despite the attorney’s fees. For those unaware, the criminal defense attorney has held a spot on the National Trial Lawyers Association’s “Top 100 Lawyers” list for four consecutive years.
One of his most famous cases included the acquittal of Casey Anthony in 2011. The mother avoided prison and the death penalty for murdering her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie. Sources claim that Baez’s excellent services cost a fortune, with lawyers charging Lanez $200,000 per month. Following the revelation, Twitter fans had a field day to shout down the 30-year-old for footing the luxury bill.
Many believe the Brampton native will get the short end of the stick working with Baez. Some claimed lawyers would take the rapper’s money without even trying, while others joked about the Juno award winner ending up broke and jailed.
Photos Of Megan Thee Stallion’s Bloody Feet Released On Social Media
Following the “Say It” singer’s guilty plea in December, fans got their first look at what might have happened on that fateful night. As reported, a blog called Nique at Nite released gruesome photos from Megan’s shoot on Instagram.
The photo dump captures a scene from a real-life horror movie with blood splattered on Lanez’s car seat. Inside the vehicle, there were bloodstains on the lid and luggage which were found along with bloodstained cloth on the floor. Photographs taken by authorities show Harris covered in bruises, particularly on his shins, thighs and scalp.

The most damaging evidence of the nightmare was an x-ray of Megan’s leg. The image captures the performer’s attachment with two white dots representing bullet holes in his ankle area.
Additionally, leaked audio of Harris’ 911 call captures the anguish of the “Body” rapper’s friend, sobbing as he reveals his friend had been shot. Long story short, Harris admitted that the three had been fighting, but Lanez took it too far by using a gun.
