Tory Lanez ‘Remains Confident’ As He Releases New Music From Behind Bars

Tory Lanez continues to sing innocent songs! The disgraced rapper refuses to accept his guilty verdict in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion as he tries to keep his music career alive.

The Hip-hop star’s life took a turn for the worse in 2020 after the “Hot Girl Summer” singer revealed the entertainer had shot him in the leg following an argument. Two years later, the father of one was convicted on criminal charges and ended up in prison.

Despite being incarcerated, the Canadian artist remains hopeful as he continues to claim the justice system was rigged against him. In his new home, prison, the 30-year-old recently penned a candid note to his fans, assuring them that his life as a musician is far from over.

On Sunday, June 18, the “Broke In A Minute” rapper updated his Instagram page with an open letter about his struggles. The Juno Award winner declared she will not give up her fight for freedom, saying she is making the best of her unfortunate time in prison.

The media personality explained his faith in God, claiming that the Almighty will save him from his troubles. Armed with this belief, the Brampton native says he lives in “high spirits,” writing:

“To my Family, my Friends, and to the Umbrellas around the world, I want you all to know that I have not lost my faith in God and that I am in high spirits. I pray for the best and remain confident that God will see me through this.”

Lanez reveals he is on a journey of healing and self-growth, declaring he will overcome this trial a much better person than he started. “I have spent the last seven months recovering my mind, body and soul. Although I came to imprison good people, I will leave as a great person,” the 30-year-old claimed.

The father of one seemed confident about his future, announcing he had turned his prison into a place of business. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, the Soul Train Music Award nominee radiated positivity.

“I have made this prison cell my work office. I will carry on the Umbrella legacy from here or anywhere,” said the Canadian sensation, adding that nothing will affect his passion to be a “positive light” that helps others.

Ending his powerful message, the artist involved announced his team will be dropping “new music, merchandise and updates” that night while “Hurt Me,” his latest collaboration with fellow rapper Yoko Gold, will be released early Monday, June 19.

As promised, the “Jerry Sprunger” singer shared a snippet of a new song in a second Instagram post. The short clip captures a stunning caramel colored woman rocking multiple gold piercings and necklaces.

The beauty, possibly AI-generated, is naked except for a large briefcase that obscures her assets in her arms. In the background, the lyrics to “Hurt Me” can be heard with one of the artists singing:

“Don’t you realize that it hurts me? When I saw you come out. Because you have the time of your life only when I’m gone. You know, you don’t deserve me. Looking for you in the crowd.”

One Umbrella Founder’s Sentence Has Been Delayed As Prosecutors Fight For A Harsher Sentence

A few days earlier, the sentence against the Brampton native was postponed again. Since the 2022 conviction, the 30-year-old was due to be sentenced in January. However, the performer’s fate is still uncertain, with several delays.

One of the reasons for the setback was Lanez’s attempt to gain freedom by hiring a new lawyer and filing for a retrial. On June 13, the father of one appeared in a Los Angeles court for his sentencing hearing, but his defense team won their motion to continue.

According to reports, the presiding judge believes the rap lawyer “Luv” deserves adequate preparation time. Therefore, the Canadian sentencing hearing was moved to August 7. As the umpire noted, the Grammy nominee’s attorneys need all the time they can get because prosecutors are on a witch hunt.

As Lanez, his legal team, and the public await his sentencing hearing, it is reported that Los Angeles prosecutors are seeking a 13-year prison sentence for Lanez. In a sentencing memorandum filed on June 6, legal representatives claimed the rapper deserved the prison term cited for his actions.

Prosecutors insisted that the shooting was not the only sad issue, given the entertainer’s disgraceful behavior towards Megan after inflicting bodily harm on her. “The defendant actively invited harassment against the victim by spreading misinformation to his large following in order to incite the public against the victim,” an excerpt from the court document read.
