Tory Lanez’s prison sentence may be complicated for his well-being!
On Tuesday September 19, the rapper was finally transferred to a state prison to serve a 10-year sentence for the shooting of co-worker Megan Thee Stallion in July 202o.
However, information about state prisons suggests that there may be more problems than usual!
Tory Lanez State Prison Sees Few Murders In 2023
Lanez is serving a 120-month sentence at North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, which has been in the news lately. According to reports, the state correctional facility, located about 145 miles from Los Angeles, has been the site of several murders and intense violence among inmates.

Super dangerous criminals are often sent there for example convicted serial killer Ramon Escobar. In February, Escobar allegedly killed his cellmate, 53-year-old Juan Villanueva, leading to a charge of first-degree murder.
Villanueva was sent to prison for sexually assaulting a child. A similar case of prison violence is the death of 25-year-old Ricardo Saldivar, whose death is now being investigated as a homicide by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
When prisoners are not killed, there are several reported cases of violence between prisoners and their guards. Just this month, it was reported that a convicted sex offender was found guilty in connection with a 2020 incident in which he was accused of assaulting a corrections officer.
The inmate, Joseph Smith, hit and punched two officers who searched him on suspicion of drug possession. He now faces a possible sentence of 50 years to life.
None of this looks good for Lanez, who has only served 10 years, and hasn’t proven to be as big a hit as the mentioned criminals. However, the “Say It” singer has plenty of job opportunities to keep her busy and away from the bad guys.
For example, prisons offer different jobs with wages ranging from $.08 an hour for unskilled labor, and up to $.30 an hour for skilled labor.
Lanez Glows In Her Released Mugshot
The Blast — BOP Mugshot
Earlier, when the Canadian was transferred and processed at North Kern State Prison, his mugshot was released. In the now-viral photo, Lanez looks unhappy and unkempt while keeping a straight face for the prison cameras.
Her hair isn’t covered in white stuff everywhere, but her nose piercing is still there. Before the deed was committed, the rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was denied bond, destroying any hope of an early release from prison.
A few days before his processing, Lanez sought to live with his wife and son while awaiting the outcome of an appeal following his conviction in the shooting case. However, the judge was not swayed by his appeal, citing his violent felony convictions, past court order violations and non-US citizenship as reasons for his disqualification.
Remember that in 2022, Lanez was convicted of three counts — assault with a semiautomatic weapon, negligent discharge of a firearm and possession of a loaded and unregistered firearm. It wasn’t until July 2023 that he was sentenced to 10 years despite prosecutors arguing for 13 years because he re-traumatized his victim, Megan, with aggressive social media posts.
The ‘Hurts Me’ Rapper Is Always Innocent

Despite the jury’s verdict, his conviction, and eventual sentence, Lanez maintained that he did not shoot “Bongos” in the leg that fateful day.
Following the announcement of his sentence, the Canadian rapper took to social media to remind his fans of his innocence, while waging a war against an unfair justice system.
“I never let hard times scare me. I will never let no jail time wipe me out. No matter how they try to twist my words, I have always maintained my innocence, and I always will,” Lanez declared. “This week in court, I am responsible for all verbal and intimate moments that I share with the parties involved… that’s it.”
He continued, “I do not apologize for the charges I was wrongfully convicted of. I stand by the stance that I refuse to apologize for something I didn’t do.”
Assuring his beloved fans that this was not enough to conquer his spirit, he wrote, “Tough times don’t last, tough people will last,” while promising not to give up fighting until he emerges victorious.
