The musician put an “Ask me Anything” box on his Instagram story, prompting fans to pry into his personal life. One Instagram user asked, “Is your real dad involved in your life?” Responding to fans, the “Dark Road” singer shared:
“I haven’t seen my biological father since I was in the 6th grade. I have no desire to. I’m proud to be Cyrus.”
Days before the “Pray at Night” singer proudly claimed her last name, she lamented how the name is affecting her music career. As The Blast reports, the 34-year-old pop artist made the statement after a fan asked, “Is it hard being in a family that’s in the spotlight?”
Trace replied, “I love my family very much, but I think I would be more successful if I wasn’t part of a famous family.” He explained the reason behind his answer, highlighting the fact that his hard work is usually overshadowed by his family name.

About the Famous Cyrus Family
MEGA
For those unaware, Trace and Brandi were born to Tish in her previous marriage to Baxter Neal Helson. However, according to Cosmopolitanboth were adopted by country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, who married Tish in 1993.
Although now divorced, Tish and Billy Ray welcomed three more children during their nearly 30-year marriage — Miley, 30, Braison, 29, and Noah, 23. The Grammy winner also shares son Christopher Cody, 31, with Kristen Luckey, who he dated before meeting Tish.
Most of the Cyrus siblings have gone on to music, built successful careers, and have a close sibling bond. However, there was speculation about a rift in the family as Noah and Braison skipped Tish’s wedding to Dominic Purcell.
The mother of five tied the knot with the “Prison Break” actor in August, with Miley as her maid of honor. Also in attendance were his children, Trace and Brandi.
Instead of showing up at the wedding, the 23-year-old singer hung out with Braison at Walmart wearing a graphic T-shirt emblazoned with Billy’s face. The two had a coffee date, and Noah shared a photo on social media.
Now that Tish and Dominic are officially together, Miley has four new half-siblings: Joe Purcell, Audrey Purcell, Lily Purcell and Augustus Purcell! The four of them live a simple life and are not involved in Hollywood.
Instead, Billy Ray is engaged to the Firerose singer, who previously told PEOPLE about the proposal. She said, “Billy looked at me and said, ‘Do you, do you want to marry me?’ And I was like, ‘Of course I do. I love you.’ He said, ‘I love you. I want to make this official. I want to be with you forever.’”
