The iconic NFL football player is set to grace the field on Super Bowl day as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers. Although he wanted his family and loved ones to witness the historic moment, Kelce’s $40 million net worth didn’t protect him from the outlandish suite prices.
Travis Kelce Jokes About How Much Money He Spent on the Super Bowl
During Thursday’s episode of Travis and his brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, the Chiefs tight end quipped about how much money the Super Bowl takes out of his pocket.

When asked by Jason what he did differently this week to prepare for the big day, Travis playfully replied, “I didn’t really do anything different other than just count how much money I spent on d— Super Bowl for this family. and friends to come.”
The star athlete, who dated Taylor Swift, added, “Just making sure I’m on top of that financially and losing all this money!” With the Super Bowl just around the corner, the price of VIP suites has become a big topic of discussion among fans as well as NFL stars and their loved ones.
Although Travis has hinted that he spent a lot of money preparing for his loved ones to attend the game, his mother Donna Kelce, apparently doesn’t think he deserves to sit in the suite.
Just the day before the “New Heights” episode, Mama Donna, as she’s affectionately called, reveals that she’s going to boogie it to the crowd at the game because of how expensive the Super Bowl is. “You can understand that the box in Vegas is worth millions of dollars, so I don’t think I’m in the box,” he said while on the Today Show.
The parent added, “I feel like I’m in the audience, as far as I know I’m in the audience with other people because it’s an expensive Super Bowl.”
Christian McCaffery Doesn’t Want Fiancé Olivia Culpo to Buy Suite Tickets
Travis’ mom isn’t the only NFL loved one who has publicly complained about the VIP Suite’s price. Earlier this week, Chris McCaffery of the San Francisco 49ers had to stop his girlfriend, Olivia Culpo, from buying tickets.
Coincidentally McCaffery’s mother, Lisa, talked about not being able to afford a suite. “We looked into suites and none of us could afford them. Not even Christian, money bag there — nor Olivia’s money bag,” Lisa claimed on her “Your Mom” podcast. “So, we’re not in a suite. I will tell you right now.”
Lisa explained that they had to settle in the negotiated reserved area at the stadium, but they were only able to get eight tickets for the family. As a result, any of McCaffery’s friends would watch from a nearby bar and meet up with them afterward.
The distraught parent seemed to blame Taylor Swift for the inflated prices, saying, “Long story short, it’s so expensive … I don’t know if it’s the Taylor Swift factor, I don’t know if it’s the first time in Vegas factor, there’s a lot things that happen.”

Following Lisa McCaffery’s revelations, her daughter-in-law-to-be tried to please her by purchasing suite tickets, but Culpo’s attempts were thwarted by her fiancé, who declared she “had to turn him down”. “He [Culpo] try, but I’m not going to let anybody pay to watch me play,” the running back said, before repeating, “I’m not going to let anybody pay to watch me play.”
