Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift continue to prove that distance is not a problem. The Super Bowl champion flew to Australia to support his girlfriend during her Eras Tour.
The Kansas City Chiefs star recently recalled one of the couple’s sweetest moments from the trip, revealing how much he enjoyed their date at the Sydney Zoo.
He shared behind-the-scenes details on Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce.

Kelce enjoyed his time in Australia, especially visiting the famous zoo with his girlfriend. She talked about the date to her brother, describing Swift as “the best thing possible” while recalling how they enjoyed meeting and feeding exotic animals.

The couple saw creatures such as kangaroos, red pandas, rhinos, koalas and more. But the NFL star loves having up close and personal interactions with red pandas, who he likens to “friendly raccoons.” He said:
“One of my favorite things was the zookeeper, who showed us the red panda. We had to go into the cage just to go in and see the pandas going into, like, the panda area, and they were like, ‘Okay, keep that door closed, and when you get out of here real quick, close this one because they’re escape artists, ‘ and I was like, ‘This thing gets so many brownie points from me, man!’”
Kelce and Swift also fed koalas, an interaction the athletes enjoyed, given the animal’s calm nature. “[We fed] eucalyptus leaves to koalas. They didn’t do anything. They are just relaxing. That’s what koalas do. They are just relaxing,” he said.
Although he enjoys interacting with the smaller animals, Kelce can’t help but feel awe when the couple “defends a rhino.” He admitted that it was “terrifying to be in the same enclosure” as the big animal, saying:
“That thing just finished running in the mud. Like, I caressed it like I put my hand on a plastered wall. The thing is solid rock, and it jumps around and stuff. He really likes to play.”
Kelce and Swift also saw two African elephants, a tiger sitting outside a tree house, and a lion. Although he likes to meet many animals, including apex predators, the athlete is thankful that these creatures do not live in Kansas City.
“I saw a crocodile, which was much bigger than a crocodile. Thank god they don’t stand out in the United States,” he exclaimed. As noted, Kelce’s “amazing” date with Swift happened last month when she visited Australia during the singer’s Eras Tour.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was seen waving to fans, singing along to his girlfriend’s song, and even handing out a guitar pick, per PageSix. Reflecting on the fans’ reaction to the podcast, Kelce praised their enthusiasm, declaring:
“Sydney does not disappoint. I’m pretty sure the crowd there – well, they’re rowdy. Australians are quite rowdy. They like to have fun. I like to have fun.”
Kelce admitted he enjoyed how “loud” the crowd was and claimed his girlfriend “really enjoyed performing in Australia” because of the crowd. “Shout out to Australia for showing up, showing up,” he added.
