He recently spoke with Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” where he congratulated him on his “post-Daily Show” career and his run for the past seven years.

When asked how long it took Noah to get used to not having to prepare for the next episode of the show every night, he replied, “You know what, it took, I’d say, two weeks, and then I realized, oh no, I don’t need to know, I don’t need to know.”

The South African native explained that he can now choose when not to follow the news, unlike when he was still hosting the Comedy Central show. At the time, he had to “wake up, watch the news, go to bed” and repeat the cycle every day, which Colbert could relate to.

The TV host then recalled the Met Gala after party where she was so engrossed in world events while everyone else was having fun. This led Colbert to realize that’s a tough part of the job before asking his guest what he likes about “The Daily Show.”

Noah praised the people he got to work with, saying he loved them and missed “the people, the culture and the atmosphere” but didn’t miss the “grind”. At the start of her “Daily Show” career, she admits she didn’t expect the pace of work to be so relentless, comparing the rush to planning a wedding.

“Making a daily television show, in many ways, is like planning a wedding,” he explains. “So who do you think the guest is? What do you want to wear? What will happen? Who will make the toast? what is the speech about? What does everyone eat? Who sits where? How is it going? And then the wedding happens, and then you go, ‘Okay, we’re going to have another wedding tomorrow.

‘The Daily Show’ To Take Over Guest Host For A Moment

As Noah prepares to exit “The Daily Show,” The Blast reports that the late-night show has released a list of guest hosts who will take over for an unspecified period of time. Kal Penn, Wanda Sykes and Chelsea Handler have been named interim hosts, and the show marks Handler’s latest late-night guest hosting stint since she replaced Jimmy Kimmel during his summer vacation.

Alongside the trio are “SNL” alumni Al Franken, Sarah Silverman, Leslie Jones, and comedy icons DL Hughley, John Leguizamo and Marlon Wayans. Hasan Minhaj, a former regular in the program, was also included. This is the first time the program has had an outsider, according to Jen Flanz, the series’ executive producer.

The development comes as Noah reportedly blindsided executives with his sudden exit announcement, also leaving the show without a permanent replacement. However, Comedy Central president Chris McCarthy mentioned that “The Daily Show” is slated to relaunch this Fall, while a new host may be announced before then.
