Trouble In “Paradise”? Another “BIP” Couple May Have Split

Romeo Alexander and Kira Mengistu caught the attention of “Bachelor In Paradise” fans during Season 8 of the reality television show.

Kira is sent home early, but in a surprise return to shore, she confesses to Romeo she’s not ready to give up.

“I really wish we had tried this for real… I just feel like unfinished business,” she tells Romeo before asking him to leave the beach with her. After a very long pause, Romeo decided he would go with her.

His awkward smile at the end when talking to the camera with Kira made Bachelor Nation care about his safety. The two continued to joke about the awkward encounter on social media (including a video where Kira “kidnapped” Romeo) before revealing at the reunion that they were still together and happy.

Although, now it seems that there is trouble in heaven.

Although the two confirmed that they were in a happy relationship together during the “Bachelor In Paradise” reunion, it seems now that they may have split up.

First, Romeo posted to Instagram, “It’s been a journey, but it’s time to say goodbye to the lip smacker. #authenticity #growth #change #honesty.”

Later, Kira reshared the post to her Instagram Story, which read “To avoid disappointment, take people for who they are and not what they can be.” Kira also deleted all pictures of her and Romeo from her Instagram page.

Although the two have not confirmed the split, signs from Romeo and Kira have fans believing that the end has come for the “Paradise” couple.

Despite receiving backlash for her behavior on “Bachelor In Paradise,” Kira is grateful for her time on the show.

“Admittedly, I was an agent of mayhem during my time on Paradise,” she told Cosmopolitan, “My time on the show included love triangles, arguments on the beach, consensual nipple rubbing of a male contestant, and bouncing from one guy to another until at last I left Heaven with my Romeo (Alexander). I was a ‘colourful character.’ It’s harmless fun.”

He continued, “But within a day of the first episode airing, I started receiving hateful messages and comments on my social media pages and various forums saying that my behavior was unbecoming of a doctor. Some very concerned citizens wondered what would be thought of by my employer at the University of Pennsylvania. Although I initially ignored the barrage of low blows to my professionalism and my ability to do my job as a doctor, I could not remain silent for long.”

“I doubt I would get the same backlash as I do if I were a man, and actually, the men on the show rarely get the kind of violent backlash I do when it comes to their careers,” he said before noting, “Women always are held to a higher standard, especially those who make it up the corporate ladder.”
