Trump brands Nikki Haley ‘Nikki New Taxes’ as polling tightens

Former President Trump dropped the latest nickname for the 2024 presidential race, branding rival Nikki Haley “Nikki New Taxes.”

Haley – whom Trump hired into his White House to serve as the United States’ ambassador to the United Nations – has been gaining on Trump in several polls.

Polls earlier this month showed him within four points of the former president in New Hampshire – a dangerous development for Trump who has dominated the polls in every state so far.

“KISS OF DEATH: Nikki New Taxes,” read an email from Trump’s campaign committee on Friday — which later vilified the former South Carolina governor.

“The truth is finally out about Nikki Haley’s troubling record that shows her contempt for the working class and willingness to sell out to lobbyist parasites,” the email read.

“He’s pushing for a 60% increase in the state gas tax in South Carolina after promising voters he wouldn’t do it. He also voted for an unjustified 20% increase in the state sales tax, making him an enemy of the working class and an ally of lobbyist cronies who take advantage of impressionable politicians seeking their approval.”

The letter, signed by Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung, also denounced Haley as a “RINO” — a Republican in name only — for supporting entitlement reforms that “eliminate Medicare and Social Security and raise the retirement age.”

Trump became famous for his terrible nicknames during the 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns.

In the current race, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has become known as “Ron DeSanctimonious.”

In the 2020 contest with President Biden, Trump repeatedly referred to him as “Sleepy Joe.”
