Former President Donald Trump pledged to “immediately stop all robberies and thefts” if he is returned to the White House – calling on police to open fire on shoplifters.
The 2024 GOP presidential front-runner took aim at criminals during a fiery speech Friday night at the California Republican Party convention as the state grapples with soaring crime and daytime shoplifting.
“We will immediately stop all looting and theft. It’s simple: If you rob a store, you can fully expect to be shot as you leave the store,” the 77-year-old said.
“Shot!” Trump added for emphasis.
“The word that they shot you will get out in a few minutes and our country, in one day, will be a completely different place. There must be retribution for the theft and destruction and destruction of our country,” he added.
Trump, who has also proposed shooting migrants to stop them from crossing the US-Mexico border, drew cheers for delivering his tough-on-crime message about also opening fire on shoplifters.
