Trump campaign rips ex-spokeswoman who backs DeSantis: ‘Foul stench of s–t’

Donald Trump’s campaign savaged his former communications director Erin Perrine on Wednesday, blasting her as “sick” for her defection to the super PAC supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis this cycle.

Perrine appeared on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria” program, where she was described as Trump’s “former campaign communications director” in a nod to the role she held in the former president’s 2020 campaign.

“Look at this grinder @ErinMPerrine trying to use previous Trump associations to get on TV. He chose to side with DeSanctimonious and nothing could remove that stench— from him,” Trump War Room account aired on X, using one of the 77-year-old former president’s preferred nicknames for his rivals.

“MAGA denies it and anyone associated/working with it. TRAITOR!”

The attack on Perrine also appears to double as a warning against Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo booking her in the future.

The campaign was slammed on social media for its outrage, with former NYPD officer John Cardillo writing on X: “Trump’s official campaign team is so vile to ex-employees who leave the cult, especially women. What kind of presidential candidate and his team act like that?”

“These are sick cultists,” he added.

“It really shows confidence in your competence that you’re spending time attacking former staffers instead of running the 2024 campaign,” communications expert added Ellen Carmichael. “It’s kind of creepy you’re all obsessed with him.”

Perrine was reportedly fired from the Never Back Down PAC supporting DeSantis in early December.

In his appearance on “Mornings With Maria,” Perrine analyzed the 2024 contest and drew attention to how President Biden has been hemorrhaging several key blocs of support in recent polls.

“The other thing here when you look at this polling is not that Donald Trump is building more in this coalition. We’ve seen some movement, but it’s not like these voters are leaving Joe Biden and going to Donald Trump,” he said.

“Especially with black voters, they see a third-party candidate as a possibility,” he said. “That would be a spoiler for the Democrats if that happens before the 2024 election.”

Perrine went on to note that Democrats are experiencing a morale gap against Trump and thinks that despite the “long run until election day,” the White House should be nervous about November.

The Post contacted Never Back Down for reaction. Perrine declined to comment.
