Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Alina Habba blasted the Manhattan judge overseeing the $250 million civil fraud trial as “out of control” after the two exchanged brief words during the former president’s testimony in the case Monday.
Speaking to TV cameras outside the courtroom during a lunch break, Habba, 39, opened up on Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, who earlier in the day had advised him to “sit down” after he interrupted proceedings to challenge him.
“I was told to sit down today. I’ve been yelled at and I’ve had a judge, who is unhinged, slam the table. Let me be clear: I do not tolerate that in my life. I will not tolerate it here,” he said.
He also mentioned Trump’s polling numbers in the 2024 presidential race and claimed the country was “a mess”.
