Then-President Donald Trump asked reality TV star Kim Kardashian to use her influence to get a professional football player to visit the White House in exchange for supporting his pardon request in the final days of his term, according to a forthcoming book.
That strange quid-pro-quo request is outlined by Jonathan Karl of ABC News in his new book “Tired of Winning: Donald Trump and the End of the Grand Old Party,” excerpts published by Axios Monday.
According to Karl, Kardashian, now 43, called the soon-to-be former president to urge him to commute the sentences of several inmates before he left office.
“[Trump] would provide a replacement, he told Kardashian, if he leveraged his celebrity connections to get a soccer star who was his friend to visit him at the White House,” Karl wrote.
Kardashian is trying to deliver for Trump, “seeing it as a small price to pay to get justice for people he believes are serving an unjust sentence,” the writer continued.

“All the players he approached refused. Trump has become too toxic. In the last two weeks of his presidency, nobody wanted to be around him.”
Trump famously welcomed the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star to the White House in 2018 to discuss pardons.
The A-lister’s lobbying led to the 45th president granting a pardon to Alice Marie Johnson, who was serving a life sentence for her role in a cocaine-trafficking organization.

At the time, Kardashian’s husband Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, had become a staunch supporter of Trump. Ye and Kardashian divorced in 2022.
After the 2020 election, Trump began harassing Kardashian, believing that she had endorsed his rival, Democrat Joe Biden.
A few months after Trump left the White House, Karl wrote, Kardashian reached out and tried to recruit him to support another pardon appeal.

“No, the former president told him. He won’t do it. ‘You voted for Biden and now you come asking for my help?’ Trump told him,” according to the book.
“After a few more choice words, the line went dead. Trump has hung up.”
Kardashian hasn’t publicly confirmed who she’s supporting in 2020, but she posted three blue hearts on social media alongside a photo of Biden and now Vice President Kamala Harris after the race was held on November 7, 2020.
Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign vehemently denies that story.
“Disgraceful and untalented John Carl [sic] is a back-bencher who can never get his own show for obvious reasons. Previously released passages from this ‘book’ have been thoroughly debunked,” a Trump spokesperson told The Post.
“This crap either belongs in the discount bin in the fiction section of the bookstore or should be reused as toilet paper.”
Since seeking a pardon in 2018, Kardashian has studied to become a lawyer to continue her criminal justice reform activism.

After failing the bar exam several times, he revealed in December 2021 that he passed California’s “baby bar.”
Karl’s book is set to hit the shelves on Tuesday.
