Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade steps out armed with handgun after bombshell Fani Willis affair allegations — and didn’t deny tryst

Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor leading the election meddling case against Donald Trump in Georgia, did not deny having an affair with his boss, Fani Willis, when he was spotted Thursday for the first time since the bombshell allegations.

Wade, who is seen openly carrying a gun, declined to answer — but also did not issue a denial — when asked by The Post whether he had spent any of the $654,000 he earned working on the Trump case to take Willis on a lavish trip.

Willis is the Fulton County District Attorney who brought the election interference charges against the former president and 18 co-defendants.

She hired Wade, who she says is her secret lover and a private attorney with the Atlanta-based Wade & Campbell Firm, to oversee the case in late 2021.

The special prosecutor arrived at his law office outside Atlanta, Georgia in a silver Audi A8 L 4.2 Quattro — worth more than $100,000 new — around 1:45 p.m. Thursday.

Dressed in a stylish cobalt suit, he walked from his luxury car to the office and declined to comment on the alleged affair.

“No,” he snapped when asked if he would answer any questions.

Moments later, Wade left the building and was seen holding a gun in one hand.

Georgia is an open carry state even without a permit and The Post is not suggesting Wade engaged in any wrongdoing.

The co-prosecutors are accused of having “improper” and “clandestine” ties in a stunning motion filed Monday by Michael Roman, one of 18 Trump co-defendants in the Willis Racketeering and Corrupt Practices (RICO) investigation.

Court filings allege without evidence that Wade paid for luxury vacations with Willis to Florida, Napa Valley and the Caribbean, using legal fees he had been paid by the Fulton County DA’s office.

The DA appears to have “solely authorized” his compensation, which comes to nearly $700,000 in 2021-2022 alone, according to the motion and district records.

“Willis and Wade had a personal relationship before and after Willis appointed Wade as special prosecutor in the instant case,” the motion states.

“Willis and Wade were romantically involved before Willis contracted for legal services with Wade. It’s not entirely clear when the relationship started, but it started when Wade was married.”

Wade filed for divorce from his wife, Joycelyn, in November 2021 after 26 years of marriage, records show — the same month he started working with the Fulton County DA’s office.

The couple share two adult children together.

The attorney secured the contract, which begins Nov. 1, 2021, despite having no experience prosecuting complex RICO Act cases like the one against Trump and his associates.

Court filings said the payments made to Wade from Fulton County and his subsequent vacation purchases with Willis could count as honest services fraud, a federal crime in which a vendor provides kickbacks to an employer.

The district attorney “personally benefited from an undisclosed conflict of interest”, it continued.

It’s also possible this could be prosecuted under federal grazing statutes, the motion said.

Roman faces seven charges related to alleged interference in the 2020 Georgia presidential election, including violations of the Georgia RICO Act, conspiracy to impersonate a public official, conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree and conspiracy to commit false statements and writings.

He now insists that Willis is disqualified and the case thrown out, arguing that there is a conflict of interest, and claims he was incentivized to prosecute the case to continue to make “a handsome sum.”

Pallavi Bailey, a spokeswoman for Willis, said the DA’s office will respond to Roman’s allegations “through appropriate court filings.”

On Wednesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a criminal misconduct complaint against Willis over the allegations, repeating allegations that Willis may have benefited financially by hiring her alleged lover as a special prosecutor.

Meanwhile, Willis has been subpoenaed to testify in Wade’s divorce proceedings.

In court filings obtained by The Post, the process server said he served the subpoena on Willis at his office in Atlanta on Monday morning.

Joycelyn did not respond to a request for comment from The Post.

His attorney Andrea Dyer Hasting said in a statement to The Post that he had an “ethical obligation to uphold the court order to suppress existing records” but added that he would file a motion to unseal the file.

“Our investigation into Mr Wade’s conduct is independent of any other case or court proceedings. We expect all questions raised to be addressed in court,” the statement said.

“Our sole focus is on Ms. Wade and helping her enter a peaceful new chapter in her life.”
