Trump rakes in $9.4M since Georgia mug shot — and more than $20M in August: report

This picture is worth more than a thousand words.

Former President Donald Trump’s mug shots have been a boon to his 2024 campaign — helping him raise $9.4 million less than a week after he surrendered to authorities in a Georgia election meddling case.

With the mug shot windfall, the Trump campaign has now raised more than $20 million in August, Fox News Digital reported Tuesday.

“Since the moment my mugshot was plastered all over the Internet in a violent attempt to falsely criminalize me, our movement has RAISED $9 MILLION from grassroots patriots like YOU,” Trump said in a statement released by the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee on Tuesday.

“In fact, our campaign recorded its SINGLE BIGGEST FUNDRAISING DAY,” the 77-year-old said of his Georgia gift.

Trump’s fundraising numbers “increased” shortly after his historic mug shot of his grunt was emblazoned on campaign merchandise emphasizing that he “won’t give up,” according to the report.

The campaign sold 36,000 T-shirts, 24,000 coffee mugs and 8,600 posters bearing images of Trump captured by authorities at the Fulton County jail, bringing in nearly $3 million from those items alone, the outlet noted.

The mug shot merchandise money has reportedly been “earmarked” for political and campaign activities, and will not be used to cover the legal expenses of the 2024 Republican presidential primary.

Trump’s famous portrait quickly went viral, even before the former president included it in his first post on X, formerly known as Twitter, in more than 2 1/2 years.

The post came just hours after he was booked into Fulton County Jail Rice Street on Thursday after being charged by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis with 13 charges related to his alleged efforts to tamper with the 2020 Georgia election.

Trump has vehemently denied wrongdoing and denounced the allegations leveled in his fourth impeachment since leaving the presidency as “election interference.”

Trump has routinely used criminal cases against him as fuel for his campaign.

Following his first indictment in Manhattan over alleged hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, the Trump campaign touted a $5 million haul in the first 48 hours and $10 million in five days.

His campaign also boasted about raising $6.6 million in the days following the former president’s federal indictment on criminal charges for allegedly mishandling classified records.

Trump was also indicted earlier this month on a four-count federal indictment for alleged subversion of the 2020 election.

In total, the 45th president faces 91 charges in all four counts.

Trump leads by nearly 41 percentage points in the GOP presidential primary race, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average, despite a legal cloud over his candidacy.
