Trump says he should be let off the hook in classified documents probe — like Biden: ‘WHY ARE THEY CHARGING ME’

Former President Trump wasted no time discussing special counsel Robert Hur’s decision not to bring charges against President Biden for mishandling classified documents.

“WHY DID THEY HIRE ME,” he demanded to know Saturday in a Truth Social post. “I DID NO WRONG??? PRESIDENTIAL RECORDS ACT! TWO-TIER JUSTICE SYSTEM. THIS IS AN ATTACK ON SLEEPY JOE’S POLITICAL OPPONENT, ME. IT WAS MASSIVE ELECTION DISRUPTION.”

The message came after Trump spoke about the special counsel’s report Friday afternoon.

“If Biden’s not going to be indicted, he said, that’s up to them, you know, look, if he’s not going to be indicted, that’s up to them, but I shouldn’t be indicted,” Trump said at a National Rifle Association rally.

Trump later defended his alleged mishandling of classified documents as protected under the Presidential Records Act and called his actions “peanuts by comparison.”

The former president faces 91 federal and state charges across four separate criminal cases that will remain pending during the 2024 presidential campaign.

Among his charges is the mishandling of classified documents — something that Trump’s special counsel Jack Smith has chosen to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

Although the report from Hur cleared Biden of official misconduct, his claim that he was mentally unfit to stand trial sent shockwaves through official Washington, raising new questions about whether he is fit to run again this year.
