Tupac Shakur’s half-brother is happy Duane “Keffe D” Davis has been charged with his murder, but is still angry it took nearly 30 years for police to catch him.
Mopreme Shakur told The Post Friday he still doesn’t understand how Davis went free and instead capitalized on his beloved brother’s death with interviews and a book boasting about his involvement over the years.
“I’m kind of numb because the timing is so curious because why is it now 27 years after his death?” Shakur said.
“[Davis] has said all this time that he was in the car when his nephew [Orlando Anderson] shoot my brother This does not have to be the case.”
During a news conference Friday in Las Vegas, Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo described Davis as the “commander on the ground, on site” and the “caller of the shots” who “ordered the death” of Tupac Shakur.

A Nevada grand jury indicted Davis on one count of murder with a deadly weapon and gang enhancement and he was arrested on Friday.
In his memoir “Compton Street Legend,” Davis admitted he was in a white Cadillac with Anderson and two others when they pulled up to Shakur’s vehicle on the Las Vegas strip on the night of Sept. 7, 1996, and opened fire. Tupac, 25, was shot four times and died in hospital six days later.
Davis wrote in his memoir that Tupac Shakur and his entourage beat up Anderson earlier that night at the MGM Grand hotel after a Mike Tyson boxing match, prompting him and his crew to retaliate.
Davis has claimed Anderson pulled the trigger in retaliation against Shakur. Both he and Anderson were members of the South Side Compton Crips gang of which Davis claimed he was a “five-star general”.

Mopreme said Las Vegas detectives contacted him a few months ago and assured him they were still investigating the case.
In July, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police raided Davis’ home in Henderson, Nevada and seized several computers, laptops and iPads from the home, as well as .40-caliber cartridges, according to a search warrant obtained by The Post.
“The timing is very curious and I’m a little surprised because this should have happened a long time ago,” said Mopreme.
“People talk, but that doesn’t mean anything. And then I found out that the detective on the case suddenly retired. I’m just confused by the bull—t, but other people in the department say they’re still working on something and it’s moving.”

At the news conference, DiGiacomo said while investigators have information about what led to the fatal shooting, there are still some holes.
“What is lacking is admissible evidence to establish this chain of events,” the prosecutor said. “[Davis] admitted in the book that he had obtained the firearm with the intention of hunting down Mr. Shakur and Mr. Knight.”
Mopreme Shakur said he was outraged to learn Davis would use his brother’s name and death to gain attention all this time.

“That’s just a blatant disregard for the memory of my predicament, who is the greatest rapper of all time and an icon,” Mopreme said.
“I’m not a lawyer or a cop, but I watch a lot of ‘Law & Order’ … and he himself said that he was definitely involved. He admitted this.
“But now we’re here and I want to know about motives and any accomplices. I just dare to look at these allegations.”
Anderson and two other men who were with Davis the night of Tupac’s shooting are all dead, leaving no other witnesses to come forward to tell what happened that night.
Mopreme said he plans to be in court as soon as the trial begins. When asked what he would say to Davis if he had the chance, he paused before adding: “I’m really not thinking about that because I might pass out. I don’t know how much I will be able to control myself.”
