While he acknowledged the arrest of Duane Keith “Keefe D” Davis by Las Vegas police on murder charges related to the Tupac case as a step forward, he emphasized that it does not provide complete closure.
Speak to TMZMopreme shared that the arrest was “bittersweet” and brought back bitter memories of Tupac’s murder but also marked progress.
“It’s bittersweet for a number of reasons. That time, of course, was 27 years, and it didn’t have to be this way. It doesn’t have to happen at all. We have to live with the reality that my brother is not here,” said Mopreme.

Furthermore, Mopreme is eager to reveal more about the motive behind Tupac’s murder in 1996. He said, “It’s not over yet. We still have to see if there is [are] accomplice We still need to see the motive.”
Law enforcement has suggested revenge as a motive, stemming from an argument between Tupac and Davis’ nephew after the Mike Tyson fight. Authorities allege that Davis quickly organized and carried out the shooting that same day. However, Mopreme wanted a deeper understanding of the case.
The “Me Against the World” rapper revealed to the outlet that the Las Vegas Police Department recently contacted his family about the investigation. Unfortunately, the retirement of the detective who started the relationship has created a challenge for the case.
Mopreme said, “The detective who called, he’s retired. So it seems to be a pattern in the Pac case.”
The unexpected arrest of Davis shocked the Shakur family, as they had received no prior indication of the impending action. This development follows earlier doubts expressed by Mopreme about the police investigation.

Sekiwa continued: “It is important to me that the world, the country, the justice system, and our people acknowledge how heavy the passing of this man is, my brother, my mother’s son, my father’s son. His life and death mattered, and should not be settled or unrecognized, so yes, today is a victory, but I will reserve judgment until all the facts and legal proceedings are complete.
“There were many hands involved and still many surrounding the life and death of my brother Tupac and our Shakur family as a whole. We are looking for real justice in all areas,” he concluded.

The arrest comes after a staggering 27 years since Tupac was fatally shot while leaving a Las Vegas Strip boxing match. In 1998, Davis revealed to a cable channel that he was the front-seat passenger in the car from which the fatal shots were fired.
He also admitted his involvement in the case to police in 2009, but according to a former detective who spoke to CNNthe authorities cannot act immediately on this information.
According to authorities, Tupac’s shooting was the result of a gang-related conflict between two gangs based in Compton, California. Davis is now the only surviving suspect in the case, and he has insisted in a memoir that he and the record label executive who drove Tupac are the only surviving witnesses.
During a press conference following Davis’ arrest, Jason Johansson, a Las Vegas police homicide lieutenant, stated, “Over the last five years, we’ve conducted many interviews and confirmed many facts that are not only consistent with the crime scene that night. the incident but also supports and is consistent with the sequence of events that night.”
