An extraordinary diamond and ruby ring, personally designed by the famous rap legend, exceeded all expectations by selling for more than $1 million, well above the estimated value.
He made this distinctive crown ring as a celebratory symbol for his famous deal with Death Row Records and his bail release from a rehabilitation facility in New York. Sadly, the design came shortly before he was gunned down in September 1996, adding a poignant layer of mystery to one of the music industry’s greatest enigmas.
Tupac’s Crown Ring Becomes Most Expensive Hip-Hop Item Ever Sold
Tupac’s custom crown-shaped ring, which holds the significance of being one of his last personal possessions before his death, achieved a remarkable feat by selling for nearly $1.02 million at a Sotheby’s auction in New York. The sale set a new record for the highest value ever achieved by a hip-hop artifact at auction.
The auction featured a variety of hip-hop antiques, including a signed letter from the “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” rapper and a demo tape of his single “Trapped,” according to a press release from the auction house. Initially estimated to sell for between $200,000 and $300,000, the ring’s final sale price exceeded all expectations.
The lot presented during the auction is part of a special commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the hip-hop genre, which features memorabilia from other famous industry names such as De La Soul, Mos Def and Wu-Tang Clan.

As observed by Insider, Tupac’s crown ring, which is made of 14-karat gold and decorated with diamonds and rubies, has a significant inscription that reads “Pac & Dada 1996” – a tribute to his engagement to actor Kidada Jones.
The jewelry was offered for auction by the artist’s godmother, Yaasmyn Fula, who informed Sotheby’s that it was specially designed by the “All Eyez on Me” hitmaker herself and carefully assembled by a jeweler in New York City. The aforementioned press release reveals:
“Reflecting his recent affinity with Niccolo Machiavelli’s political manifesto ‘The Prince’ (Tupac would begin using “Makaveli” after reading The Prince while imprisoned), Tupac modeled his design after the crowns of medieval European kings in ‘self . -a coronation,’ according to Fula, a celebration of survival through a tumultuous year in an often tumultuous life.”
Just days before the record-breaking sale took place, The Blast had reported that the car – a BMW 7 series – involved in Shakur’s tragic “Hit Em Up” shooting had been put up for sale through a website called Celebrity Cars.
The car, which did not belong to the late artist, was driven by Suge Knight at the time of filming and was initially leased by Death Row Records. According to Celebrity Cars, this is the first time the vehicle has been offered for sale or public display since Tupac’s death, and claims the car has been fully restored to pre-filming condition and has been repainted.
It now rides on replaced wheels, the same ones it had in 1996, and the bullet holes have been addressed as part of the restoration process. The black BMW’s asking price of $1,750,000 is undeniably expensive, making it a purchase that will appeal to dedicated Tupac fans with significant financial means.
Tupac’s Home Was Searched Recently In Connection With His Murder

In a recent development, detectives searched the residence in Henderson, a suburb near Las Vegas, where the American Music Award winner was tragically gunned down. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, which is responsible for the ongoing investigation into her murder, did not provide specific details about the nature of the search.
According to The Blast, the famous rapper was only 25 years old when he was fatally shot. Although no arrests have been made and there are currently no suspects in custody, it is worth noting that the search location is less than 20 miles from the Las Vegas strip where Tupac was left for dead.
Following the drive-by shooting, the “Nothing but Trouble” actor was rushed to the University of Southern Nevada Medical Center, where medical professionals worked hard to save his life, causing him to undergo multiple surgeries. Sadly, despite their best efforts, Tupac eventually succumbed to his injuries and passed away on September 13th.
The investigation into his murder then faced major challenges from the start, with witnesses hesitant to come forward, hindering the progress of the case.
Although Las Vegas police managed to interview him before his death, the “Gang Related” star was unable to provide them with any important information about the identity of his assailant or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
