Tushar started playing cricket when he was in school and he used to travel from Kalyan to Dadar to practice at Shivaji Park Gymkhana. Career
Tushar Deshpande completed his formal education from RA Podar College Of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai. Tushar Deshpande started his cricket career by playing for Mumbai domestic team for Under-16 and Under-19 teams. Tushar made his first-class debut in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy for Mumbai on 6 October 2016. On 19 September 2018, Tushar made his List A debut for Mumbai when he played for the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy and they won the tournament. During the quarter-final match of the tournament, Tushar took the first five wickets of his career. In August 2019, Tushar was named to the India Blue team for the 2019-2020 Duleep Trophy. During the IPL 2020 auction, Tushar Deshpande was bought by Delhi Capitals at a base price of Rs. 20 lakhs.
Facts/Trivia
- In an interview, Tushar mentioned that he went to the Shivaji Park Gymkhana academy to give tests to the batsmen but he saw a queue of over 60 players waiting for the tests. Considering the distance he traveled from his home to the academy, he decided to join the ranks of bowlers and was shortlisted to bowl.
- Tushar plays as a medium-fast right-arm bowling style and is known for making continuous deliveries in the 145km/h range.
- In 2019, Tushar was on his way to attend the Syed Mushtaq Ali Super League Trophy when he received the news of his mother’s death due to ovarian cancer. In that match, he took 4 wickets for 19 runs which helped the team win the match. He dedicated this victory to his mother.
