Twitter Explodes As Fans Claim ‘DWTS’ Is Rigged After Champion Was Named

The “Dancing With the Stars” finale was one for the books!

The final four contestants for this season include “Bachelor” host Gabby Windey and dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy, TikTok star Charli D’Amelio and dance partner Mark Ballas, “Let’s Make a Deal” host Wayne Brady and dance partner Witney Carson, and Drag Queen Shangela and dance partner Gleb Savchenko.

These four couples battled it out for the Mirror Ball Trophy last night during the long-awaited finale — but there was only one winner.

In fourth place, it was Shangela and Gleb Savchenko. Wayne Brady and dance partner Witney Carson came in third, leaving the bottom two to be Gabby Windey and dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy, and Charli D’Amelio and dance partner Mark Ballas, which should come as no surprise since the two have dominated the top of the leaderboard since first week.

After the Mirror Ball Champion was announced, fans immediately took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the results.

One fan felt Gabby Windey should have won. “Hate exposing myself as someone who has been watching dancing with the stars every week but gabby has been robbed I hate it here,” they write.

Another chimed in that they felt Shangela deserved to win. “The real election fraud in America is that the Dancing With the Stars vote was rigged against Shangela,” they said tweeted.

The “DWTS” finale consists of two rounds — the redemption round and the freestyle round. The redemption round focused on the dance style the couple performed earlier in the season, which was chosen by the judges.

First, head judge Len Goodman, who announced his retirement from the show last week, chose Wayne Brady and Witney Carson’s redemption lap dance. They performed the Quickstep to “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” by Jackie Wilson.

Next, Carrie Ann Inaba chose Jive for Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas’ redemption dance. The two performed their dance to “Grown” by Little Mix.

Judge Bruno Tonioli was assigned to Shangela and Gleb Savchenko, and chose Quickstep for their redemption. They danced to “Queen Bee” by Rochelle Diamante.
