Tyrese Gibson Responds To Home Depot: ‘Trump Supporter Attempts To Slander Me!’

Tyrese Gibson is hitting back at Home Depot’s claims that he lied about allegations of racism he experienced at one of their branches.

The two’s battle began a month ago after the “Fast and Furious” star sued the retail giant over a racially profiled February incident. However, the home improvement company recently hit back at his claims, saying the opposite has happened.

The company’s not-so-subtle disagreement with the actor’s racist narrative didn’t escape Gibson’s ears when he quickly fired back with angry words at Bernard “Bernie” Marcus, co-founder of “Home Depot.”

In his latest Instagram post, the “Fast X” star addressed claims that Home Depot released surveillance footage that showed his claims were false.

Stung by the retail corporation’s claim that he had fabricated the racist encounter, Gibson addressed the situation with a lengthy caption. The Hollywood sensation slammed the company’s former CEO, Marcus, for being a supporter of Donald Trump who is accused of discriminating against people of color.

“He was one of Trump’s biggest donors, giving $7 million to his campaign. When Marcus announced in 2019 that he would financially support Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign, it sparked calls to boycott Home Depot even though Marcus is no longer with the company,” said California,

Adding, “In total, he has donated 64 million to the entire Republican Party…. Mr. Bernie Marcus…… Knock knock…… Who’s there…. The black and brown culture you and your cashiers treat like shit…,” Gibson continued before addressing the alleged surveillance footage.

He went on to describe the allegations made during the recent hearing as “Trump supporters trying to defame me!!!”

The actor expressed regret for spending “tens of millions” at Home Depot because the “record of racism and blatant discrimination of your team and staff is very clear.” He also accused the retail power company of putting “these random allegations about me in court documents?”

Gibson insisted that he was not the first person to experience discrimination at Home Depot, claiming that other Black and Brown people have shared numerous stories online describing “blatant racist practices” at the grocery company. The singer-turned-actress ended her remarks with a statement from herself and the other plaintiffs suing the home improvement company.

“Eric Mora, Manuel Hernandez, and I are 100% committed to taking a stand against The Home Depot in defense of our own civil rights and the civil rights of all who have been subjected to discriminatory practices and racial profiling of consumers,” the “Baby Boy” star statement on September 29 read out.

“Home Depot and its legal team are working to deny our claims, gaslighting… Attempting to legally bully us and silence our voices as shown in their latest court filings,” Gibson alleged. “But we will not back down. We will use all our energies to correct the company’s behavior in pursuit of the broader goal of a shared future free from discrimination.”

He ended his message, stating that he is no stranger to speaking out against injustice but never expected to be discriminated against by Home Depot.

Home Depot Says Surveillance Footage Proves Tyrese Gibson Lied About Racist Encounter

Gibson’s rant came in response to legal documents filed by Home Depot, in which the grocery giant denied the Hollywood sensation’s allegations of racism. They said their surveillance footage did not support the actor’s narrative.

According to the company, the “Black and Blue” star had brought numerous items to the cash register, where cashiers scanned everything before the California native left to continue her purchases. However, he was gone for 25 minutes, and the cashier had to clear his first transaction.

In Gibson’s lawsuit, the AMA winner claims a technical error caused the delay, and that this computer glitch resulted in Home Depot customers’ recognition of his celebrity status. In order to avoid public view, he returned to his vehicle and handed over the settlement of the transaction to two employees.

The “2 Fast 2 Furious” star insisted that she explained the situation to the cashier, and he agreed to let her wait outside the store while her friend completed the purchase. However, Home Depot claims their surveillance footage did not capture this alleged interaction and only saw Gibson return to the store for a heated discussion with the cashier.

The TV personality had to go home after the female employee stated she could not complete the transaction unless she brought her ID card. After opposing this policy, the “Fast Five” star dropped his introduction, and the purchase was completed.
