Natalia Grace, the Ukrainian orphan accused of trying to kill her adoptive parents a decade ago, was nearly 22 and under 10 when she was adopted, DNA tests show.
Grace’s adoptive parents, Michael and Kristine Barnett, claim she was a murderous adult in her 20s who posed as a 6-year-old when they adopted her 14 years ago.

“This little piece of paper threw every lie the Barnetts ever told into the trash with a match,” Grace told her new adoptive father, Antwon Mans, through tears in Monday’s episode.
“This is huge. Because literally, it’s been 13 years since only two people lied,” he continued. “They ruined a child’s life. They paint me as a big monster when they really are.”
“It just proves that I’m not lying about my age,” added Grace, who has a rare form of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita.

“That’s right,” Mans said, before Grace continued, “I just want to know why make up this story, they know and they’re still doing what they’re doing.”
DNA test results confirmed that Grace was only 9 years old when she was abandoned by her adoptive parents, who sent her to Canada.
In the documents, Grace revealed what happened after she was adopted by the Barnetts in April 2010.

Two years later, the couple petitioned the Marion County Probate Court in Ohio to legally change the girl’s year of birth from 2003 to 1989, which was granted and change her age from 8 to 22.
They then moved to Canada with their biological children, where their eldest son would start college.
The Barnetts had previously accused Grace of abusing them emotionally and physically, as well as holding the couple up while they were sleeping with a knife in his hand — allegations she has denied.

In 2013, the couple found themselves in legal trouble when Grace was found living alone in an apartment in Lafayette, Indiana, leading to their investigation and arrest.
And in 2019, the couple, who have since divorced, were charged with child neglect.
Michael Barnett was eventually found not guilty by a jury in 2022, and Kristine Barnett had all charges dismissed in March 2023.
