Umo Eno was born on May 10, 1964. His origin is Ikot Ekpene in the Eastern Region of Nigeria. (now in Akwa Ibom State). In a recent conversation with “The Guardian,” he claimed that he spent his youth in the Police Barracks. Because his father was a police officer, he grew up as a confident child in the Police Barracks. In his youth, he learned about intertribal life. His booming career began in 1982, when he started working as an efficient employee at the Union Bank of Nigeria. Between 1985 and 1990, he also worked for Bertola Machine Tools before joining Norman Holdings Limited from 1990 to 1997. At Norman Holdings Limited, Umo Eno served as Group General Manager (GGM).
In addition, from 2004 to 2007, he served as the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom Hotels and Tourism Board. His outstanding work has earned him many public-spirited lifetime honors.
