A California mayor has landed in hot water after going viral for hitting on a drag queen at a Democratic fundraiser, sparking a war of words whether it was in front of children or not.
Burbank Mayor Konstantine Anthony was filmed bending over a table and laughing while being hit with a paddle used by drag performer Foxxy Roxywood at the Santa Clarita Valley Democrat Drag Queen Bingo event on Saturday.
The footage had been viewed more than 7.6 million times by the Tuesday after is being tweeted by Libs from TikTokwhich claims that the mayor “took a beating from a drag queen in front of the kids.”
Anthony, a newlywed father whose online bio begins with his pronouns and the fact that he is autistic, quickly responded, sparking a war of words with the popular social media page.

“Actually, there are no children at this 21+ private event,” Anthony cback on X, the new name for Twitter. “But of course lying is really a brand for you.”
A poster promoting a fundraiser for California Democratic senate candidate Kipp Mueller states that drag queen bingo is for participants 15 and older, but that it is “not appropriate for children.”
“So why does the ad say 15+?” Libs of TikTok asked.

The liberal mayor responded firmly: “Regardless of the advertising, there were no children at the event. But you weren’t there, so you’d never know. It’s easier to speculate and lie, isn’t it?”
Undeterred by Anthony’s denials, TikTok’s Libs produced a photo it claimed depicted a child participating in a drag queen event.
“You’re lying,” the conservative X account raged. “This is also a picture of a child who participated in the event! Posted on the event organizer’s account!”

But the mayor insisted that the youth in question was from “a completely different event 11 hours earlier.”
“Need to admit you’re wrong again?” press Anthony.
The mayor later also told Fox News Digital that “It has been confirmed that there were no participants under the age of 21” at the fundraiser.
Anthony was an improvisational comedian and actor for 20 years before entering local politics and winning a seat on the Burbank City Council in 2020. He was elected mayor two years later.
He is currently running for Los Angeles County supervisor.
In late July, Anthony tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, actress Margo Rowder. The couple has a young son.
