Urfi Javed was born on Tuesday, 15 October 1996 (age 26 years; in 2022) in Lucknow. His zodiac sign is Libra. She attended City Montessori School, Lucknow. He completed his studies in Mass Communication from Amity University, Lucknow.

According to Urfi, while growing up in Lucknow, he was mentally and physically tortured by his father. In an interview, he talked about this and said,
Growing up in Lucknow, I didn’t understand why I was stopped from dressing a certain way. I was mentally and physically abused; I also tried to commit suicide but in that moment, I decided to give my life a second chance. I ran to Delhi. I am only 17 years old. I started taking tuitions to support myself. Later, I started working in a call center. Soon, I decided to go and try my luck in Mumbai. I didn’t have money or a place to live so I used to stay at my friends’ houses. I do odd jobs, give interviews and even give auditions.”

He had met Paras Kalnawat. The two met on the sets of Meri Durga, which aired on Star Plus. However, the relationship ended in 2017. Talked about his ex-lover in an interview. Urfi made a face and said,
I wanted to break up with him a month after we were together. He is a child. He is very possessive. He tried to woo me again by having 3 tattoos of my name, but who does that after someone breaks up? Of course, I wouldn’t go back to him just for a tattoo. Even if he had my name tattooed all over his body, I wouldn’t do it.”
She stated in an interview that her ex-boyfriend Paras, hindered her career when she was approached for the very popular Star Plus show Anupama. He said that he and Paras were supposed to work on the show but Paras asked the team not to cast him. He said,
We should work together in one show, I think Anupamaa only. He asked the creative director and everyone not to cast me in the show. Whenever there was a slight chance of me being on the show, he would ask the team not to cast me. Because apparently, his present girlfriend or his ex will not like it.”

In an interview, Urfi stated that he does not believe in Islam. He said,
To be honest, I don’t believe in Islam and I never did. I feel many things in Islam are quite regressive but so are other religions. The world is changing at a very fast pace but religion is not and only because of that some people are left behind. This is the main cause of the generation gap because the people are not ready to change. I don’t like the fact that Islam allows four marriages. Triple talaq has been banned and I think it is the best.”
He further added,
In Islam there are also many things that women should wear a burkha and they should stay behind the veil, I don’t understand this. If a girl wants to do it willingly then that’s fine. One cannot force something on another.”
In another interview, she said that she would not marry a Muslim man. He said,
I am a Muslim girl. Most of the hateful comments I receive are from Muslims. They say I tarnish the image of Islam. They hate me because Muslim men want their women to behave a certain way. They want to control all women in society. I do not believe in Islam because of this. The reason why they make fun of me is because I don’t behave as they expect according to their religion.”

Television
Urfi started his career in 2015 with the TV series Tedi Medi Family. He went to Mumbai for a job interview which did not go well for him. However, given his interest in acting since childhood, he decided to audition and within 3 months, he bagged his first role in the series. In 2016, she won the role of Avni Pant in the comedy drama, Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania, which aired on Sony TV. She also appeared in series like Chandra Nandini, Bepannaah, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and Jiji Maa. He was also a contestant in Bigg Boss OTT but was the first person to be eliminated from the show. Later, he appeared as a guest in Bigg Boss OTT 2; her entry into the Bigg Boss house went viral, where she appeared in a leather skirt, adorned with highlighted screws.

Controversy
Line up with actor director Obed Afridi
Urfi posted a series of stories in February 2022, revealing the fact that actor-director Obed Afridi had not paid his dues. She further accused him of exploiting young girls in the name of getting them work and modeling assignments. He posted various screenshots of chats in which the accused asked girls for half-nude photos and asked them to make video calls for indecent acts. Various celebrities like Priyank Sharma and Nikita Bhamidipati supported him and posted stories to unmask the accused stating their similar encounters with him.

Chetan Bhagat’s ‘disruption’ comment
When Chetan Bhagat spoke at a literary event organized by a media company in November 2022, he mentioned Urfi Javed’s name while pointing out that young people spend a lot of time on Instagram. Mr. Bhagat said,
Phones have become a great distraction for youth, especially men, spending hours just watching Instagram Reels. Everyone knows who Urfi Javed is. What will you do with the photo? Will it come up in your exam or will you go for a job interview and tell the interviewer that you know all the clothes? On one side, there is a youth who protects our country in Kargil and on the other side, we have another youth who sees a picture of Orfi Javed hiding in their blanket.”
The comment drew controversy, and while reacting to his comment, Urfi Javed lashed out at the author through an Instagram story where he wrote,
Men like him will always blame women instead of accepting their own shortcomings. Stop promoting your sick rape culture out there. Blaming women’s clothing for men’s behavior is very 80s Mr. Chetan Bhagat.”

- In an interview, Urfi recalled the time his pictures were uploaded on porn sites. He said,
I was in my first year of college in Lucknow when someone mischievously uploaded my picture on a porn site and all was revealed when my father found out. I come from a very conservative family and my father then without listening to my story, beat me badly.”
- She ran away from her home to escape the patriarchal environment with her two younger sisters and lived in a garden for a week in Delhi. He took a job at a call center and supported his entire family after his father remarried.
- According to Urfi, he has been typecast for a negative role. When asked about the lack of leading roles in his career, he said
Somehow, the casting director told me that I didn’t have that innocent face to play a lead character on TV. I only got negative roles to play. Also, with leads, the problem is that one is so prone to playing the same character for so many years that after the show ends or stops, it’s hard to get a series. However, with parallel pointers, this is not the case. It doesn’t mean I don’t want to lead, but I don’t chase it,”
