Urmila Kanetkar Kothare is an Indian actress who works in the Marathi cinema and television. She is best known for her Marathi film “Duniyadari.”

After completing her studies, Urmila went to Mumbai’s St. Xavier’s college to pursue a BA degree. She is a well trained classical dancer and has pursued a Masters of Arts degree in Kathak. Urmila has also taken lessons in Odissi from Sujata Mahapatra as well. At the age of 11, she participated in a program held for the 50th Independence Day of India.

Adinath and Urmila are blessed with a daughter, Jiza. Her father-in-law is a famous film director, actor, and producer, Mahesh Kothare. Her mother-in-law, Neelima Kothare, is a High Court advocate.
Career
Urmila made her acting debut with the TV serial “Tujhya Veena.” Subsequently, she appeared in the TV serial “Maayka” and “Mera Sasural.” Next, she did Marathi serials like “Asambhav,” “Uun Paus,” and “Goshta Eka Lagnachi.”
Kothare made her film debut with the Marathi film “Shubh Mangal Savdhan.” Thereafter, she featured in Marathi films including “Aai Shappath..!,” and “Savalee.” She entered in Telugu cinema with “Welcome Obama” in 2014.
