US Air Force sergeant arrested after pointing gun at woman, 19, during road rage incident: ‘Do you want to f—ing die?’

A US Air Force sergeant pointed a gun at a teenage girl and shouted “Do you want to die!” during a morning road rage confrontation caught on camera in Arizona earlier this month.

First Sgt. Charles Bass III, 40, was driving in Surprise, Arizona when he was cut off by 19-year-old Shi’Anna Bamba on Dec. 5, according to court records obtained by ABC 15.

Bamba had sent his younger brother to a local school shortly before the heated confrontation.

The two then continue down the road next to each other when they run into a red light, whereupon Bamba pulls out his phone and records the irate driver.

“Do you want to die king,” Bass can be heard yelling as he points a gun at the teenager, according to a video obtained by the outlet.

The shocked teenager claims Bass, a 21-year Air Force veteran, pointed the gun at him again before driving away.

Bamba said it took him a moment to fully realize what was happening before he called his mother in a panic.

“I called my mother there after realizing that I could die there,” Bamba said.

Bamba, however, disagreed with the record and offered his side of the terrifying scene.

“I didn’t make (the lane switch),” Bamba told the outlet. “I haven’t tried changing lanes yet.”

The teenager then contacted the Emergency Police Department and showed the video to a patrol officer.

Bamba’s father saw Bass’ truck a day later in the same area where the road rage incident took place and reported the license plate to police, according to KPNX.

“There’s nothing I can say out of my mouth that can threaten you to put your finger on the trigger, and I’m in the car by myself,” Bamba told ABC.

Bass turned himself in and confirmed his involvement in the incident.

Police said Bass was arrested on December 12 by a team consisting of the US Marshals Task Force, US Air Force and Surprise PD.

Bass blamed his “PTSD issues and hypervigilance” as the reason he pulled out his gun, explaining he saw Bamba’s driver’s window roll down and didn’t realize what he was doing, he told investigators following his arrest.

Bass said “he didn’t know why” he drew his gun a second time when he realized the driver was a young woman.

Shi’Anna Bamba was shocked after Bass pulled a gun on her and immediately called her mother and the police. abc15

He was charged with multiple charges including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Disorderly Conduct with a Weapon and Endangering, according to court records.

In Arizona, a person facing a class 3 felony charge of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon can face an average of 8.75 years in prison.
