US Navy chief attacks girlfriend in hotel room before good Samaritan steps in: police

US Navy Commander Kyle Rogemoser was celebrating his promotion before he landed behind bars for allegedly beating his girlfriend in a Florida hotel room when she pleaded for help, authorities said.

A good Samaritan heard her cries, burst into a DoubleTree hotel room in Jacksonville and rescued the woman before calling 911, according to an arrest report obtained by Fox News Digital.

As the witness spoke with responding officers on Oct. 7, he saw Rogemoser, 36, walking around the hotel lobby and pointed him out to deputies, the report said.

Rogemoser, who had a large red gash on his neck, was arrested on one misdemeanor charge of domestic battery shortly after midnight.

He appeared “extremely intoxicated” and repeatedly told a deputy he could not understand his Miranda rights, police said.

On Oct. 6, the couple arrived at the hotel around 5 p.m. and shared “alcoholic beverages,” according to the police report.

The drinks were followed by “a celebratory dinner at the hotel for the suspect’s promotion to Navy commander and [they were] spend the night,” the victim told an officer. After the celebration, the couple went up to their hotel room and argued.

“The victim stated that the suspect punched her in the mouth three times,” the affidavit claimed. “He started calling for help, and he heard a knock on the hotel door and he opened it [it]. Witnesses came in, picked him up and took him downstairs to management until the police were called.”

The woman’s injuries were recorded and included red marks on her chin and neck and fresh blood on her lower lip.

Rogemoser was booked into the Duval County Jail on Oct. 7 and released three days later after a family member posted $5,003 bail, court records show.

The 35-year-old victim, who shares a home with Rogemoser, has a temporary no-contact restraining order against him.

He is due back in court October 31 for a hearing. Rogemoser and a spokesman for the US Navy did not immediately return requests for comment.
