One of the three U.S. soldiers killed in a terrorist drone attack in Jordan wanted to “do his country proud” by joining the Army and knew the risks involved but wasn’t afraid to “do his part,” a friend told The Post.
Lifelong friend Kennedy Sanders, 24, said the Army Reservists “loved serving their country” and knew the risks involved in joining the military.
“He was so brave,” Quoyah McPherson, 29, told The Post.
“He wants to serve the country and make this country proud. I want everyone to know he did that.”
McPherson described Sanders as his “god sister,” explaining that their mother was a good friend and former neighbor in Georgia.
“We all grew up together. We always call each other sister,” McPherson said.
“We have so many pictures together as babies.”
McPherson shared a photo of her and Kennedy as children smiling together among a group of siblings and cousins.

“Kennedy is so stupid, it’s funny. He’s really big in the community with volunteering, athletics, he’s a coach,” McPherson said.
“He likes to play people all the time, very reliable. That’s why I like him.”
Kennedy was killed in his apartment near the Syrian border on Saturday night when Iran-backed militias launched a drone strike.
He died along with two other fellow soldiers, Spc. Brianna Moffatt, 23, Sgt. William Rivers, 46.
All three are Georgia natives based in Fort Moore.

McPherson, a Marine Corps veteran, said Kennedy comes from a family of service members, including his father, cousins, and others who served in various branches of the military.
Despite that influence, McPherson noted that Kennedy was “his own man” who kept him in the Army because of his own personal ambitions.
“It’s something he wants to do,” McPherson said, adding that Kennedy plans to enlist full-time after his time in the reserves ends and begin an Army career.
Although the job came with danger, Kennedy was willing to stop because “he loved serving the country.”
“Entering the army you know the risks, you understand the risks. Kennedy was not naive to the situation,” said McPherson.

“He knew the kind of risk that would come with him and he still decided to serve his country. He paid the ultimate price for this country.”
Although the loss was “quite difficult” for the Sanders family, especially for his mother and twin sister, Kendall, McPherson said Kennedy died doing what he loved.
“He was proud to serve his country, if Kennedy had the choice to do it again I’m sure he would,” he said.
“He’s in it because he wants to serve the country, and make this country proud, and do his part. And I want everyone to know he did that.”
