Three days before headlining this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, Usher made a quick stop in Clark County to get a marriage license. Records show the singer and his longtime beau took the big step on Thursday, February 8.

Although their move marks a milestone in their relationship, sources claim they owe their progress to their spiritual advisor, Amba Kahly Su. The “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” hitmaker allegedly decided to marry Goicoechea following the health expert’s recommendation.

The wedding will reportedly be an intimate affair attended only by close family and friends. This walk down the aisle will be Usher’s second marriage — his previous union was with fashion designer Tameka Foster, with whom he shares teenage sons Usher ‘Cinco’ Raymond V and Navid Ely.

Regarding his relationship with Goicoechea, the couple shared two children: Sovereign and Sire. Last week – the same day the marriage license was filed – the 45-year-old confirmed his family would be there to watch his Super Bowl performance.

“They will be around. I have received many notes from Naviyd,” revealed the proud father. “Usher, he gave me some notes. He gave me some songs that he felt like I should cut, songs that I should keep.”

All four children will likely attend their father’s second wedding, which will take place in one of the famous churches in Las Vegas, each Daily Mail.

Usher & Jennifer Goicoechea’s Relationship Timeline

“Yes!” the singer has been turning heads with his relationship with Goicoechea for years. Although it is unclear when the couple first met, they were publicly linked in December 2016 following a sighting on her Instagram page.

In the photo, Usher looks down while Goicoechea covers his mouth while whispering into his ear. “Not sure what I said or who I was talking to. But my nails look good,” she captioned the post.

Two years after their first sighting, the couple posed again on Goicoechea’s Instagram page. In the clip, captioned “Boys club,” she poses between her two friends while Usher laughs as he leans over the trio.

Despite these social media appearances, Usher and Goicoechea didn’t spark romance rumors until June 2019 at Keith Thomas’ party. They seemed to confirm their relationship in October with a photo at the Hollywood Bowl.

In a backstage snap, the R&B star smiles as Goicoechea kisses her cheek. Usher confirmed the couple are expecting their first child in August 2020, with sources claiming the couple are “excited and very excited” to become parents.

Their daughter, Sovereign Bo Raymond, arrived in September 2020. A year later, they welcomed their second child, son Sire Castrello Raymond, in October 2021.

Before taking the Super Bowl stage on February 11, Usher previously teased his show would include a surprise guest, and he delivered on his promise in style. The first guest performer was the iconic Alicia Keys, who appeared in a red sequined one-piece while playing the piano.

The famous vocalist and Usher gave a stunning duet of his classic song, “My Boo,” before giving way to Lil Jon. The rapper soars during a performance of the 45-year-old’s hit single “Yeah!” and was joined on stage by fellow rapper Ludacris.

The only artist missing from the impressive lineup is Justin Bieber. Although the former teen idol reportedly appeared with the Kardashians for the Super Bowl event, she did not participate during the halftime show.

Nevertheless, fans thoroughly enjoyed Usher’s performance, which he said was long overdue. Following the announcement of the 2023 Super Bowl headliner, the 45-year-old shared: “It’s the honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list.”

“I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything they’ve seen from me before. Thanks to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity possible. I will see you soon,” he concluded.
