Usher is mourning his grandmother.
The singer’s Eid celebration should have been spent celebrating with family and close friends but has a sad meaning forever. This is due to the loss of his grandmother Tina, who he considers his ultimate support system, on Christmas Eve. Still reeling from the loss, the 44-year-old penned a lengthy message along with several messages to honor the 87-year-old’s legacy in his life.

The music artist took to his Instagram page to share a picture of himself and his old lady along with a message showing his pain. The first slide shows the couple standing backstage before the star’s performance. As her team members looked on, she seemed to be cheering on the “My Way” singer as she was seen laughing.
She looked elegant in her simple green dress, while she looked like a player in her purple coat with fur details on the right sleeve. The next slide is more intimate as he hugs her tightly.
A swipe to the left features both in a black-and-white throwback photo. The final slide shows how much he supports her artistry as she leads him and his team in a short but powerful prayer before they take the stage.
The caption begins with the grieving grandson declaring, “I LOVE U MORE,” as he notes that it took him a few days to understand that he is no longer with her. He stated, “I pray for clarity and strength for all who depend on him. His daily devotion was to help those in need, and he did just that.”
Regarding her feelings, she stated, “I feel a little lost right now,” and admitted that she is trying to be strong for others. The “Caught Up” singer explained that, instead, she cried silently when she remembered laughing with him a few days ago and thought they had more time.

“When I’m lost, he’s always there when I call him, no matter the hour or how long it takes,” he wrote, adding, “GOD answered his prayers…and now I know he’s calling him home. I’m just not ready.”
He remembered that his last words to her were about how there is a right time for everything. The Broadway star explained that he always saw the best in her even when she felt broken and vulnerable and that he would always remind her of her purpose in life.
The evangelist would always say, “You are Usher Raymond…you should Bring Light to Mankind,” as he revealed that he always believed he would be a priest. The “Confessions” singer emotionally stated:
“I need you now more than ever, Grandma. Just to hear you again. Miss you. I celebrate you and your life!!”
While navigating this sadness, she shared a message of comfort from someone she was soaking in, writing, “Remember that it’s only sad b/c we miss them and that’s selfish and entitled, but it’s a celebration b/c they’re in best place ever!”

Usher and his girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea, who are already parents to a daughter Sovereign Bo, are expanding their child with a baby boy. This will be the second for the music executive and the fourth for the Grammy Award-winning artist.
The Blast shared that they welcomed their son Baby Sire last year and Usher took time before announcing the birth in a post. In the black and white image, she shows the toddler with her eyes closed, writing in the caption:
“Hi, my name is Sire Castrello Raymond … I am the newest addition to Raymond’s crew. I was born on Sept 29, 2021, at 6:42 pm weighing 7lbs 13oz. Hear me roar. AKA Ra Ra.”
