Utah man facing grueling recovery after a truck crashes into his bedroom while he was sleeping

A Utah man is facing a grueling recovery from injuries he suffered when a truck crashed into his bedroom while he slept.

Dodge Mulock, 22, was in his bed next to a window in the Pleasant Grove townhouse he was with when the driver of a pickup truck had a medical problem and crashed into his wall on Nov. 27, KSL said.

“The impact sent him flying into the air and he landed near the closet area where he got stuck in the bumper of the truck and the wall, and there was a lot of debris on top of him,” Mulock’s aunt, Rochelle Kohl, told the outlet.

The Bay Area native suffered broken bones, internal injuries and bleeding – has since undergone five surgeries at Utah Valley Hospital, he added.

He also had to relearn how to walk.

“Recovery will be very challenging, difficult, extensive. But, you know, we hope it’s filled with hope and optimism,” explained Kohl.

At the time of the accident, Mulock was studying at Utah Valley University and had a job, he said.

“He was working part-time, and he was going to – put himself through college,” Kohl told KSL.

“He’s working as hard as he can,” he added of the 22-year-old’s current emotional state.

Mulock’s family has started a GoFundMe to raise money for his recovery, and where they also provide regular updates on his treatment.

As of Friday, the campaign had raised more than $26,000 of its $100,000 goal.
