Vaani started her career as a model with a modeling agency, Elite Model Management. She has worked with famous fashion designers like Payal Singhal and Sailex Nairangbam. He has also done many TV commercials including Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk, Oppo Mobiles, and Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri Jewellery. She made her acting debut in the 2013 Bollywood film Shuddh Desi Romance. In 2014, she debuted in the Tamil film Aaha Kalyanam, which is a remake of the Bollywood film Band Baaja Baaraat (2010).

Controversy
Just before the release of her second Bollywood film ‘Befikre’ (2016) she underwent lip and chin surgery to enhance her appearance. Her surgery turned out to be a disaster, and she received severe attacks on the internet. However, the actress denied it.
