Val Chmerkovskiy is still enjoying the euphoria of being a first-time father!
The Ukrainian-American and his wife, Jenna Johnson, fulfilled their dream of becoming parents after struggling with infertility for two years on January 10, 2023. Although the professional dancer informed the world when their baby boy arrived, it took almost a month for them to share his face and name with their fans on social media. Chmerkovskiy followed the launch with a heartfelt message that struck a chord with his followers, prompting an influx of supportive comments.

In their joint announcement post of the baby’s arrival, Chmerkovskiy and Johnson told fans that their world was “forever changed.” The news received a positive response from followers and even celebrities, including Tamar Braxton, who congratulated the new parents under the post.
In a follow-up update showing the boy smiling as his mother placed her closed lips on his cheek, his father wrote, “pure love, absolute joy.” The 36-year-old didn’t stop there, taking to the post’s comments section to post a lengthy message for parents, thanking supporters for “the kindness you’ve shown me, us.”
Chmerkovskiy earnestly revealed that while “this is a really special time” for him, he couldn’t ignore mentioning that it “wasn’t always easy.” He went on to write:
“So for all the women and men who see this picture and potentially feel triggered or anxious, I want to remind you that we struggle too. We also waited, and tried, and failed many times. And as much as this is joy, it is also very challenging and challenging.”

“Dancing with the Stars” contestants add none of the “baby poop or tears, or countless negative pregnancy tests, fights, tears, ordeals” that “make for cute instagram posts.” He then goes on to remind hopeful parents that they are “not too late, you’re not wrong, there’s nothing wrong with you” because:
“Everyone is on their own path at their own pace in their own time. I want to be honest about that because for a few years now I’ve been getting “when are you going to have kids already” “what are you waiting for” “have you got father vibes now that you’re an uncle” very irresponsible to ask but also okay understood.”
Chmerkovskiy went on to reveal that he stopped sharing his pain online because it felt like “no one was really interested.” Even so, he reached out to “those who are still interested, still listening, for those who are still here.”
In conclusion, the two-time World Latin Dance Champion shared that she remains grateful for the “kindness and support” over the years, with much love in her heart for her son, Rom. “God bless you, and your beautiful family. Welcome Rome, to the messy and wild life. From what I’ve noticed so far, all the rides have been perfect, and painful,” replied one fan.
Another commenter said they couldn’t be happier for Chmerkovskiy and Johnson, and a third wrote, “congratulations to you and your family. Appreciate your authenticity.” Additionally, a fourth fan “thanks for the opportunity to follow your journey! Thank you for being pure, honest, and wholesome!”

Jenna Johnson Praises Her Body For Sticking With It During & After Giving Birth
Last month, The Blast noted that Johnson paid tribute to her body weeks after she gave birth to her baby boy. The 28-year-old took to Instagram to share recent photos of herself in the hospital after she gave birth.
While the images show her attached to a machine, some of them feature her husband playing around to take the pressure off her. The first-time mom expressed the “excitement, fear, pure exhaustion, and love” she felt during and after the birth, in a caption that also saw her write in part:
“I’ve always appreciated my body and what it helps me do and create in my craft… but nothing can prepare you for how magical that ship is and what childbirth goes through.”
The ballroom dancer added that it took about 30 hours before she and Chmerkovskiy finally met their joy. Johnson insists that he will be “forever grateful” for having the “best support system” around him at that point.
