TV personality Valerie Bertinelli has just announced that her 10-year marriage to Tom Vitale is officially over. The actress and financial planner tied the knot in 2011 and have two children, Andie and Angela Vitale, together. Bertinelli filed for legal separation from Vitale in November 2021 and officially filed for divorce earlier this year.
Per Explosion, Bertinelli’s divorce from Vitale was long overdue, mainly due to their struggles with property sharing and the dispensation of spousal support. Although they signed a prenup before their wedding, Vitale questioned the validity of the contract and requested $50,000 in spousal support each month.
Before her marriage to the financial planner, the Food Network star was married to Eddie Van Halen. Bertinelli married the late rockstar after less than a year of dating in 1980 and remained married until 2005. Halen is the father of Wolfgang, his son.

After months of duking it out in court, Bertinelli and Vitale have officially finalized their divorce. The tv personality first filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years in May this year after seeking a legal separation at the end of 2021. At the time, she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.
Bertinelli posted a clip announcing her newly divorced status and expressing her happiness. In the video, the actress is at the airport, seemingly on her way to see her son, Wolfgang. He said, “My lawyer just called. All the papers have been signed. They will be filed.”

The actor happily continued, “On 11/22/22, I’m officially getting a divorce. Happy divorce. Finally. It’s finally over.” Bertinelli ends the clip with “Yes!” The Food Network captioned the video “happily divorced.”
Valerie Bertinelli Sells Her Wedding Ring
In September, Bertinelli posted a photo of her wedding ring and the Jimmy Choo heels she wore on her wedding day, revealing that the items would be revealed on The RealReal. He wrote, “Stopped some stuff with @therealreal.”
The actress continued, “A pair of Tiffany rings that have some bad memories attached to them and a pair of shoes that I wore to a wedding in January 2011. They should be ready in a few weeks!” The post featured several photos of brown Jimmy Choo heels with diamond studs. There are also two wedding rings and a Tiffany & Co. box.
In addition to Tiffany’s shoes and wedding band, Bertinelli also listed her Hollywood Hills home for sale in August. He originally bought the house for $1.92 million; however, it is listed for $2.5 million. This one-story house is located on top of a mountain and has three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Tom Vitale Asks for Spousal Support

Bertinelli previously filed a request for a separate hearing regarding her prenuptial agreement with Vitale after her ex-husband challenged its validity. She filed a 13-point request to have her marital status separated from her financial issues after Vitale asked for $50,000 in monthly spousal support.
She claimed she had stopped working as a financial advisor while married to Bertinelli and was not at the Postal Annex for $16 an hour. Vitale also showed Bertinelli’s financial records over the past several years. The former couple finally reached a private agreement by the end of September to end their divorce war.
Every court document prepared by RadarOnline, the couple had to hire a private judge for the divorce proceedings. The judge, Hank Goldberg, will hear “any dispute between the parties relating to the personal property of both parties.”
Valerie Bertinelli Says She Probably Doesn’t Trust Anyone
Bertinelli and Vitale met some time after the actress broke up with her ex-husband, Halen. They were reportedly introduced to each other by Bertinelli’s brother Patrick and tied the knot at their Malibu home after dating for several years.
During an interview on the Today show, Bertinelli revealed that the challenges she faced during her long divorce had caused her to develop some trust issues.
“Because of the challenges I’m going through now because of the divorce, it’s hard. I can’t imagine ever trusting anyone again to enter my life. So I have some trust issues that I definitely need to work through,” said the actress.
