Valerie Bertinelli’s Son Shares Sweet Birthday Tribute As She Gets Ready To Watch Him Perform

Valerie Bertinelli is feeling grateful on her 63rd birthday!

The Hollywood veteran has spoken out about her struggles following a heartbreaking experience with her alleged narcissistic ex-husband, Tom Vitale. Since finalizing their divorce in 2022, the entertainer seems to be enjoying his best days.

The Food Network star recently marked the new age by enjoying a sweet tribute from her loved ones. Wolfgang Van Halen, his only child and son with the late rock star Eddie Van Halen, celebrated the Delaware native with a passionate declaration of love.

On April 23, the “One Day at a Time” actress celebrated her first birthday since her divorce from Vitale was finalized in November. As this is a milestone in the TV personality’s life, she commemorated the occasion with a reflective post.

Via Instagram, the celeb shared a short clip of the song “Grateful” by Connor Price and Callmestevieray. The video shows the mother of the child spinning her suitcase in a circle before ending the act with the luggage between her raised legs.

Although the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree doesn’t show her face, viewers can sense her excitement from how she eagerly shakes her legs and plays with her suitcase.

Bertinelli is thrilled to be in Europe, as the clip is geo-tagged showing his arrival at Amsterdam airport along with the dance text: “Happy Birthday to Me!”

In the caption of the post, the “Hot in Cleveland” star subtly threw shade at her ex-husband as she revealed that part of her birthday celebration involved visiting one of her favorite venues to support her son’s heavy metal career.

“I am so grateful for my birthday this year! I’ve been through six of the hardest years of my life, and now I’m in Amsterdam (one of my favorite places on earth with sweet special memories),” said the 63-year-old.

Sharing details about Wolfgang’s upcoming show, the proud mom wrote: “And on Thursday, I get to see my son open for Metallica! Life is beautiful.” Given her previous openness about the sourness of her relationship with Vitale, fans weren’t surprised by her confession.

“So happy for you, Val. You deserve to be happy. Remember, on the road of this life; no dead ends, or detours. May you find a happy path and place. Lots of love from Portland, Oregon,” an individual cheered the entertainer.

“Happy birthday Valerie! You deserve happiness and love. I hope your week ahead is going well,” another supporter cheered, while a third raved: “Have a great time & SMILE!! You deserve to have fun!!”

Although the Mammoth WVH frontman didn’t express his love for his mother in the comments section of his post, the 32-year-old showed his support on his Instagram page. The bassist shared a cute photo showing his uncanny resemblance to the Food Network star.

The image shows the California native posing side-by-side with the “Valerie’s Home Cooking” host. The two were captured in a warm embrace with their heads touching as they flashed beaming smiles at the camera.

Amidst her birthday celebrations, Bertinelli’s public healing journey from her marriage to Vitale isn’t ending anytime soon as she continues to inspire others.

Last month, The Blast reported that the 63-year-old was overcoming one’s past to embrace a brighter future on his Instagram Story. Filming herself as she strolled through the lush greenery enjoying the clear blue sky, the TV personality gushed about the beautiful weather before advising viewers to be patient in the face of adversity. The mother of one said:

“No matter how bad the storm is, when that blue sky comes out and you break through the crap, it’s so beautiful, it’s so beautiful, and it almost makes the storm worth it.”

The Hollywood veteran continued, “Yes, the storm was worth it. Because you learn a lot, you come out the other side, and you’re like, ‘Hey, I’m my knight in shining armor. I made it through.’”

Reminding her followers that they are stronger than they give themselves credit for, the “Sydney” actress said: “You go through a hundred percent of the days you never thought you’d go through, right? Think about that.”
