Vegan bride uninvites all meat-eating family and friends from wedding: ‘We don’t want to host murderers’

Imagine you’re not invited to a wedding, not because you forgot to RSVP, but because… your diet includes meat.

That’s what happened to most all-vegan wedding guest lists, who were told they were “killers” for being omnivores and therefore not invited from the big day.

According to a recent thread posted to Reddit, the 20-year-old bride has joined a Facebook group called ‘Vegan Revolution’ to share how she has invited any meat-eaters to her wedding.

She wrote, “When ‘family’ tries to guilt trip you into letting them come to your all-vegan wedding, even though they’re omnivores.”

He continued, “Just for some context, some family members were told they weren’t invited to my wedding because we didn’t want to host a killer at our wedding on what should have been one of the happiest days of our lives.”

Then she claimed, “They consistently attack me and my partner just for being vegan. When I broke the news to them, all I got was attacks because I don’t want the weight of accepting people who still kill animals (the creatures we’re trying to protect) at my wedding on my conscience.”

He also won’t allow guests to eat only vegan food on the day – if they want to attend, they have to make a lifetime pledge to cut all animal products out of their lives.

“I will not feel comfortable if they go back to eating meat the next day,” he said.

“I’m sorry if that makes me ‘rude’ or ‘b–ch’ because I don’t compromise my ethics,” she concluded her post.

Naturally, the bride’s post exploded and thousands of comments came rolling in.

“So instead of using the opportunity to showcase how great vegan food is without forcing anyone, [you] decided to blackmail [your] the whole family and hold a wedding inviting hostages,” one called.

And a vegan friend chimed in, saying, “There’s a way to celebrate your wedding while staying true to your lifestyle. Banning non-vegans is crazy.”

Then someone else pointed out more flaws in the bride’s logic, “Anyone who goes vegetarian/vegan because someone else forced them to do it for the wrong reasons and will probably become a bigger meat eater when they realize what has happened. .”

And this person wonders how the bride functions in society with its strict views: “Can she shop at a store that has meat eaters? Can she stop at a store that sells meat? Can she eat at a restaurant? It sounds like you’re involved in some kind of low cult and this is how they separate you from your family.”

Others also agree that the bride is on track to lose everyone close to her. “There’s no way he’s keeping any of his friends after this move,” said one user.

Meanwhile, others questioned how many people would still attend the wedding. “Like, how many vegans do you really know?!” someone asked.

A bride confirmed the story

When a screenshot of the post was re-shared on Reddit, one of the bridesmaids (also a cousin) weighed in and confirmed that she wasn’t invited because she wasn’t vegan, along with all the other bridesmaids.

“I just wish he hadn’t invited us in the first place if he was planning to have a vegan wedding,” she said, adding that they had already bought all their clothes.

He also revealed that the bride’s mother was also told not to attend.
