This is the shocking moment an unsuspecting California police sergeant walked into a 7-Eleven — and stumbled upon an active armed robbery.
Surveillance cameras at a convenience store in Covina captured the masked robber entering around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and walking up to the counter under the guise of buying cigarettes, police said.
As the store clerk began placing purchases into black plastic bags, the robber lifted the bottom of his hoodie to reveal a gun tucked into his waistband.
“Terrified, the employee complied and began putting money into a plastic bag,” West Covina police said.
As the clerk put about $400 in cash into a plastic bag, the suspect, Ramon Gonzalez, suddenly looked over his left shoulder — as Covina police Sgt. Hernandez casually walked into the store in uniform.

Unaware of what was happening, the sergeant walked past the robber — who ran for the door.
The clerk immediately alerted the police, who chased after the fleeing suspect, quickly apprehending him, police said.

“Right place at right time,” the police department captioned the video, which has no audio, while sharing it on social media.
